"Eva, it's not what it looks like." Scott said, wide eyed. Students slowly began to enter the class.
"It's exactly what it looks like. A married man with relationship problems taking advantage of a teenager is what this is." I replied in a low voice.
"We need to talk about this, I'll find you later."
I said nothing, simply walking away, confused as ever.
What have I gotten myself into?

The rest of the day dragged on. I kept to myself, and just thought about things.
After school, I went to dance practice early.
The room was empty, and I stood right in the middle of it, staring at myself in the huge mirrors that cover the walls.
Wearing my black leotard, I turn on classical music and let my feelings out through jumps and spins.
I'm much focused on my dancing that I barely notice when the door opens.
In walks Scott, slowly shutting the door behind him.
I wipe the small beads of sweat from my forehead and cross my arms.
"Hi.." He says walking a little closer to me.
"Hey." I say, waiting for him to explain himself.
"Okay, so whatever you saw was not what you think."
"Are you married?"
"No. Well, I used to be."
"How come you never thought about telling me this?"
"I was going to, but it just brings back many horrible memories. It's still very hard to talk about today, but I want to tell you."
I stayed quiet, not saying a word.
"Well, about three years ago, I married my girlfriend that I met in college, Carrie. We were truly in love. I was the happiest man alive." he said, with a small grin, remembering the good times, "as soon as we got married, we got a house and began settling in. A few months after, she discovered that she was pregnant."
He looks down and rubs the back of his neck.
"We began to prepare for our baby, which was a girl. I remember how we'd stay up all night just talking about how parenthood would be for us. Then when she was eight months, something went wrong and we lost the baby. From there everything went downhill. Carrie would never leave the house and became really obsessive over me. She'd literally stalk me when I'd go on business trips. I ended up
filing for divorce and she went crazy. So crazy, that I ended up moving to a different city."I moved closer and put my hand on his back. "I'm so sorry Scott."
"It's fine..." He shook his head and focused on me, "so are we good?"
"Yes." I said wrapping my arms around his neck, quickly letting go since we are still in school.
"Talk to you later." His sparkly eyes shot a wink at me before walking away, sending chills down that spine.
Damn, I'm crazy for him.
-----
I set my bags down next to my bed and immediately kick off my uncomfortable shoes. After playing Spotify, I turn on my fairy lights as "Someone Else" by the 1975 plays.
Losing myself in the music, I hardly notice Olivia laying on my bed.
"Oh my god! You scared me!" I say placing a hand on my chest.
"Sorry, but I didn't want to distract you from your moment. Who even dances alone like that? Loser.." she whispers.
I shoot her a deadly glare, "Can I help you?"
"Oh no... I'm just really bored and haven't talked to anyone all day."
"Hmmm, I wonder why." I roll my eyes as I take off my shirt and tights.
"You're rude.... Oh my god!!!" She squeals, suddenly standing up.
"What?" I yell, scared that there's a spider behind me.
"What is that on your..... OMG! Is that a hickey?"
I immediately run to my mirror and inspect my neck. Sure enough, there was a small patch of purple on my neck, close to my ear.
"Um.. No.." I lie.
"Ew, that is disgusting." She covers her eyes. "Honestly, I should be mad, but I'm kinda proud that you're actually not a loser!"
"Get out!" I point to the door, sending her out, scoffing.
Shutting the door, I can't help it but to feel a little rebellious, in a good way.
I pull out my phone and send a text to Scott.
Me: Just discovered the mark you left on my neck 😁😏
His reply was almost instant.
Scott: Oops... I'd love to give you more ;)
I bite my lip as I read the text.
Me: We'll see..
I set my phone down and jump up and down like a giddy little school girl...
Oh wait, I actually am.
