I open the front door to leave to school and I'm greeted By the crisp fall air.

The concrete is wet with leaves stuck to it and the wind is blowing hard. This has always been my favorite time of the year.

Today is the last day before Thanksgiving break and I couldn't be anymore excited to have a break from school.

I get into my car and turn on the heater full blast. Since I still have 35 minutes till class starts, I decide to make a quick Starbucks run.

The drive-through line is abnormally long, so I get off to order.

The coffee shop is warm, with only a few people in line.

I order my regular Chai tea latte, and sit at a large wooden table while I wait.

I pull out my current read, The Red Queen, and begin to read.

"I love that book!" says a soft, female voice.

I look up to see a gorgeous woman, probably in her late 20s, sitting across from me.

She was a petite lady with blonde hair and flawless makeup.

"Really? I just started it and it's pretty good so far."

"Trust me, you'll love it. I'm Mary." She held out her hand.

"Eva." I reply shaking it.

"I just moved here last week."

"Oh that's nice." I say, although she does look familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

"Yeah, I'm actually really loving it here. The people are so friendly." She smiles, displaying her perfectly straight and white teeth.

"Maybe I can show you around someday."

"That would be great!"

"Cool, here's my number." I hand her a napkin that I wrote my number on.

My name is called out and I stand up.

"Well it was nice meeting you Mary. Text me soon." I wave and walk away.

I arrive to school 5 minutes after class begun, so I practically run into class.

Everyone stops what they're doing and looks up at me, including Scott.

I take a seat and awkwardly smile.

"So Miss Eva, care to explain why you came running to class like a maniac?" Mr.Grant says poking fun at me.

"Well you see, I kinda got Starbucks and there was a lot of traffic so...." my voice trails off.

"Don't let it happen again."

"Okay.."

I pull out my phone and hide it under my notebook.
