A/N: The Chara in this story is based off my own personal fan theory. I'm not saying that it's true or that it's better than the original, I just need her to be a certain way for the story to work. Alright, please continue!

"What's wrong, Chara? Forgotten all your moves? You're not even putting up a fight!"

"That's 'cause I'm not Chara! Sans, it's me!"

"If you're Frisk, then why do you keep coming back? Why do you insist on fighting me?"

"Because I need you're help! Please, have mercy!"

"No. I'm not going to let you fool me again. We're past mercy, you know that. Why don't you just reset, if it means so much to you?"

"I'm trying, but..."

"But what?"

"But I can't!"

"What a pathetic excuse..."

When Chara opened her eyes again, she was lying in bed. For a moment, her mind flashed back to sharing a room with her brother, and pain sparked in her chest. She breathed in slowly, hardening herself again so she wouldn't feel the pain. Her memories blurred and her purpose resurfaced, pulling her cold core back in line. Her eyes scanned the room, taking in the cream colored walls and light hard wood floor, the flower patterned carpet on the floor, illuminated by the sunlight coming through the window. It was...peaceful. Then her eyes fell upon the monster in the chair on the other side of the room. A nasty scowl formed on the child's face as she surveyed her enemy. Sans smirked at her.

"So you're finally awake...Frisk." He said, emphasizing the name. Chara furrowed her eyebrows and was about to snap back when strong arms embraced her in a hug.

"Oh, Frisk, we were worried about you! After you passed out on the porch..." Chara tensed at the contact, but didn't say or do anything as Undyne pulled away, grinning. "But you're okay now, and that's all that matters!" She announced with a laugh. Chara opened her mouth to say something, but stopped when she saw the warning look on Sans' face. She was saved from having to answer when the skeleton came forward and put a hand on Undyne's shoulder.

"Alright, Undyne, let's let Frisk rest," he gave Chara another pointed look that went unnoticed by Undyne, "besides, if Alphys finds you in here after she said no visitors, you'll be in a skeleton of trouble." Undyne rolled her eyes at the pun and left the room, grumbling. Chara's nose scrunched up in disgust at the skeleton's terrible joke. Before she knew what was happening, she was levitated into the air and thrown against the wall. Chara gasped at the pain that jumped up her spine. Odd, she thought to herself, that usually doesn't hurt. Chara attempted to get to her feet, rubbing her head. Sans grabbed her by the shirt and dragged her up to eye-level. His eyes were black and empty, except for the left one, which was burning blue.

"Listen and listen good. This isn't your world anymore, Chara. Here, you're powerless." Sans growled, his grin sending shivers down the child's spine. He threw the girl back towards the wall, but she managed to flip over and land. She smirked, smoothing out her clothes leisurely.

"That's what you think." She cooed, tossing her hair out of her face, her red eyes flashing. The child held out her hand and her knife appeared. She spun it in her hand, laughing, narrowing an eye at Sans, tilting her head slightly. "I'm just as dangerous here as I am in Judgement Hall." She sprinted forward, swinging her knife. Sans disappeared and reappeared behind her.

"Like I said," Chara swung again and Sans caught her hand, "powerless. No EXP," he squeezed the girl's wrist so tightly she dropped the knife, "no LOVE," he shoved Chara away from him, and she went sprawling. The skeleton knelt beside her, the blue flames in his eye flickering. "No determination..." Chara got back to her hands and knees, scowling. She grabbed her knife, getting back to her feet.
