"I can't believe him! Why did he walk away with her? Why is she back? Why is she here of all places? What does she want? Why can't I get a damn break?!"
She was thinking hard as she headed for the car. Her mind flashbacked to the two ex lovers walking over to the side of the room by the balcony. She felt like she was being pitied on this whole night by him. She didn't want to be at this dance. It was not her type of thing however, she came because he wanted her to. And she wanted to be near him and to show him that she can do things he likes to do. She wanted to love him. She wanted to open up to him. But how could someone like her love someone like him.
"Why didn't I just fly instead of taking this blasted car?" She sighed as she drove fast through Jump City. She wanted to be alone. To think. To meditate. To calm herself and her emotions.
Hot tears ran down her face, she was in too much thought to noticed the truck coming directly towards her side. It T Boned her driver side, forcing her nearly into the passenger side of the vehicle. She lost consciences on impact. The vision she remembered was of him and her, alone out on the balcony and her emotions going on a rampage. She was supposed to be dead. And he supposedly didn't care for her.
"Terra this isn't right. I didn't come here to dance with you, I came here to be with Raven." said the green, pointy eared Titan known as Beast Boy.
"But I came to see you. I missed you. It was hard pretending I didn't know you." Replied a whiny blonde haired, blue eyed girl named Terra.
"Besides why would someone who has a heart be with someone who could care a less about anyone. She is a demon.. She is not like you or I." She took another shot.
"Because Raven has a heart. She is just starting to let her emotions show and has better control over them."
"Humph! Believe it when I see it." She angrily responded and huffed back to the crowd, leaving Beast Boy looking out over the balcony.
"What.. Where is the car?" He pondered out loud to himself as he glanced out towards the parking lot.
Running towards Cyborg, Bumblebee and Starfire, he managed to get out in between puffs that the car was missing.
"My bab-er my second baby is missing?!" A stunned Cyborg questioned Beast Boy as Bee gave him a look.
"Yes. It's not parked where you parked it and the only one missing is- shit Raven!" Beast Boy replied slapping himself in the face.
"Fuck! She must've seen me and Terra-"
"Terra is here?" Starfire quietly asked.
"Yeah. I ran into her at the punch bowl. She wanted to ask me something in private so I walked over to the balcony. I didn't touch her. She tried to give me a hug and wanted to dance, but I pushed her off. She made fun of Raven and I took up for her. I know she hates Terra, hell I hate Terra, but she must've saw us talking and.. I don't know." Beast Boy shook his head.
"I should have ignored her and went straight back to Raven with our drinks. " he signed.
"Hey man the most important thing is to find Raven. Knowing her emotions are still settling, she probably went where she can relax." Answered a worrisome Robin who walked up in the middle of the conversation with drinks on hand.
Raven was like a sister to Cyborg and Robin, a best friend to Starfire and Beast Boy's real love. After Malchior, Raven had been pretty open to Beast Boy. After he and Cyborg went inside her mind, he found out from Love, on the side, that a certain purple haired girl liked a certain green skinned idiot. He was thrilled and vowed to protect her at any cost since he always had his eye on her heart.
He thought about that vow and wanted to slap himself again.
"We got to find her!" He exclaimed.
"She could be hurt or be hurting or -"
"Her communicator is stalled." Robin said with a puzzled look.
"She's not the moving?" Starfire asked.
Cyborg had a link to the car that he could see who was driving and any possible data he could see with the dvd player. With a few switches he connected to the car and what pictured back horrified him.
The silver car was smashed. The driver side was nearly crumbled into the passenger side. The seat and wheel were bloody. The windshield was spidered and pieces had broken out. There was a small grey hand on the dash of the passenger side. The rest of the body was on the passenger side floor and mainly out of view. The body wasn't moving.
Starfire cried at the site and flew out of the building immediately. She had no thoughts, just tears rolling down her face. She had to get to Raven, her best friend. Beast Boy morphed into an eagle. He also had no other thoughts but to get to Raven. His heart was heavy. Robin and Cyborg left on Robin's motorcycle.
They raced down the main road towards the scene of the accident. There was police, an ambulance, and many bystanders trying to get a peek at the carnage. The police were trying their best to keep the onlookers at bay while the rest of the crime scene guys worked on the details. The Titans arrived at the same time as the corridor. Beast Boy's heart broken.
"Raven hang on. I know you're still alive. You got to be still alive dammit!" he thought in silence.
Changing back into himself, Starfire landed next to him and the other two came skidded to a stop, they ran up the police commissioner for the details and if they had any leads or information on their friend.
"Well Robin, she's pretty banged up." The commissioner said with a sad look in his eye. "She'll be lucky if she comes through this."
The purple haired empath had been cut out of the damaged and was laying in an ambulance. She was pronounced in a coma. Her leotard had been slashed across her chest, large ugly marks filled and oozed blood. Her cloak was beyond repairable. Her face was cut up, an ugly gash on her forehead, her hair was matted with blood. Robin wanted her back at the Tower in the Medical Ward where they can keep an eye on her, the commissioner reluctantly agreed.
"Robin I trust you. If anything please call me and she'll get the best doctors around." The commissioner said.
"Thank you sir. She'll be well taken cared for, but if anything I'll give you a call." He replied back with a sigh.
Starfire and Cyborg helped with the clean up while Beast Boy held Raven's hand. He felt her small pulse. He could smell her fear and could feel her trying to heal herself. He kissed her forehead.
"Rest now. You will need your strength mama. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left you. The bitch wanted to talk. I told her to go away. She made fun of you. I held my ground defending you. Raven. For what's it worth. I love you. Please come back to me" he sobbed into her slender stomach. He heard her heartbeat quicken and then slowed back down to a steady pound.
