Coffee Shop
The coffee shop was down town a bit. A quiet place to enjoy yourself. Play a board game and hang with friends. It was new in town and had outstanding reviews. Raven was thrilled as she exit off the bike.
"Mugshots eh?" Beast Boy questioned.
"Perfect name for a town with now little crime." She smiled with her reply.
Walking up the building, it looked more like a shack to the shifter. He eyed the windows which were blacken out by paint. The shop had an eerie feeling, like walking up to an haunted attraction waiting for that masked man in some murdered attire to jump out at you. He couldn't figure out why he got that feeling for when they entered it smelt like baked goods and coffee. There were couches and games set up. A coffee bar where the machines were going making custom orders. There were lights and laughter. A group of teens doing homework were on the couch. Another group playing Magic at the bar facing the wall. Two city workers were enjoying a cup and a police officer was sitting at bar drinking his coffee while talking to the bar keep.
Smiling Raven went up the bar keep and ordered a hot orange tea with raspberry finish. Beast Boy knew little about tea, so he ordered a coffee, cream and sugar. Lots of sugar. They each got a baked good and took their snack to an empty table away from much of the crowd.
Sitting down, Beast Boy smelt the cup, while Raven giggled as she took a sip. The warmth made the Terra stress almost dissipate. She didn't want to bring it up. She was worried about Beast Boy and how her being back made him feel.
Taking a sip of his coffee, he closed his eyes in thought. "I love Raven. It's now or never really."
"Rae."
She looked up from her snack of chocolate chip cookies.
"What happened back there I'm sorry that you were apart of it . Terra is dead to me. Has been for a long time. You are my mate, not her. Never ever think you will be replaced. There is no replacing my one true love." He smiled as he took a bite of a cookie.
"Garfield that's sweet. And you are my one true love. Nothing she says will make me leave you. You wouldn't hurt me or us like she has before. I love you Gar." And with that she took his hand into her own.
His green hand over powers her little grey one. His gloves cover his hands, but still she could feel his pulse. She could feel he meant what he said.
"I love you too Raven. I always have and always will."
They shared a kiss over the table. Getting up to leave, they cleaned up their dishes and trash and placed both in the correct bins. Exiting the building, hand in hand, they walked over to his bike and decided to go home. She snuggled up to him as much as she could, holding onto him for life as they rode down the dark streets back to the tower.
Meanwhile back at the dump of a motel, Terra had taken a shower and had gotten dressed in a pair or jeans and a white T shirt. Her hair wet from the water spray. Least they supplied decent soaps. She went to work on her last chance.
"What can I do to make her leave him?"
She wrote down on a piece of paper.
Maybe I can make her believe he's cheating on her?
No. No. She'll never believe that.
Maybe I can make him believe she's cheating on him?
Picking up her phone, she skimmed through her contacts until she found two. Raven's ex, Melchior, and Raven's old friend, Rose.
Two are better than one. And a team is better than being alone.
Texting Rose first, Terra tally up the plan as best as she could. Phase 2.0 is in the infant stages. Get Rose and Raven to reunite. Have a girl's day. Then walks in Melchior to sweep Raven off her feet and Beast Boy into Terra's game.
"This better work!" sign Terra. My gig is almost up.
