In The Medical Ward
Monitors beeped and pinged. Raven was in a deep coma, but she could still feel and hear. It had been 3 weeks since the accident. She was healing every once and in a while. She'd let her body rest and recharge. She had to get better. She had to tell Beast Boy she loved him. She had to stop Cyborg and Robin's worry and to take in one of Starfire's bone crushing hugs. She missed them. She missed Beast Boy. When he told her he loved her in her mind, she could feel it. She felt foolish for leaving the party like that. She should have known he wouldn't betray her. She was stupid. She felt stupid. She wanted to feel his hand again holding hers. It felt right. She tried to move her hands. Nothing. "when am I gonna get better?" she thought in silence. The pain. She had felt pain.
The door opened. She sensed someone coming up to her. But she couldn't figure out who. She didn't get the bubbly vibe from Star, the robotic charm of Cyborg, the intense ness of Robin, nor the goofy ness of Beast Boy. "So who?"
"Hello Raven" Hissed a darker voice.
"Miss me much? No? Wait you can't answer. For once you get to hear my monotone voiced. Pity. I like when you put up a fight. Now to business."
The voice moved around the room. Flicking switches on or off, the monitors stopped. The room went dark and quiet. Raven felt the IVs being pulled this way and that way. She felt the oxygen stop and her lungs cried out for air. Trying to relax her mind so she wouldn't head into a panic mode, she listening to the voice and steadied her mind. Just then the door opened
"Who in the hell let you in? Beast Boy growled
"What? I can't see an old friend?"
"Friend? That's a horrible joke."
"No you're the joker of this bunch, but I must say my how sexy you are mad-"
"Can it you bitch!"
And then she heard a struggle, punches and kicks being thrown. Just then the door opened again and out came a
"Terra!" from a low growl of Robin.
'Well if it isn't the boy wonder himself!"
"Get the fuck away from her!" bellowed Beast Boy.
"Such a pity you waste your time on feelings for that demon" came the reply.
Still sensing the three were in the room she could only imagine what was going on. How she wished she could just wake up from her coma like state. How she would come to the aid of her friend and her lover. She still didn't understand why Terra was back but she had a feeling Terra's up to no good like normal.
Things had quieted down as Raven was lost in thought, during which the boys had captured the traitor. Cyborg had given her to Jump City Police to be locked back up.
"Such a pity you had to turn evil, but then again we all were fooled except for Raven.' Cy said as she was hauled away. Beast Boy and Robin looked on.
In the Medical Ward, Beast Boy headed back down to go see his beloved. She hovered over the bed, hands folded across her chest, her breathing light but her vitals were back to normal. Cyborg was working on the security system so no more intruders could come in. Robin and Starfire had went out for the evening. Bumblebee was to come over that evening so her and Cyborg could have a dinner date, leaving Beast Boy to attend to Raven.
He didn't mind being alone with the demoness. He took in her beauty. Her hair was about shoulder length and still that lavender purple. Her eyes were the color of the ocean waters glistening in the moonlight. Her body was slender and still the same gray complexion. She looked at rest. He took her hand. Breathing in slightly he spoke to her as if she were awake
"Raven, I don't know if you can hear me or even can sense me next to you. I'm sorry about the dance. I don't know why she is back but please know I would never do anything to hurt you. Maybe I am just a monster. A beast. But what I feel for you is real. I have never felt this way before. I really do love you. I want you for my mate for the rest of my life. I want us to grow old together. You can slap me silly if you want, but I can't live without you. My life was a mess before you. You were always there for me even if we had our tifs. But I vow to you I will get to the bottom of this. You have my word because I swear it on my heart and my heart is true when it comes to you. I love you my demoness."
He lowered his head into his hands while still holding on to hers he felt a weak squeeze. " I think I'm being delusional" he thought quietly.
Inside Raven's mind she tried to telepathy send a message to him. Relaxing her mind she focus only on him.
"Garfield can you hear me?"
"If this is my delusional state of mind then yes."
"Gar you're not delusional you're not dreaming."
"Then this is some sick joke."
"Am I the joking type Garfield!?"
"Well, hypothetically you try but-"
"For fucks sake Beast Boy!"
"Sorry Raven. So.. Is it really you?"
"Yes and I heard you. Both of your speeches. Did you really mean all the sweet things?"
"Raven, I live my days to protect you but I feel like I failed you."
"Gar you did not fail me it is I that failed myself and you. I overreacted with Terra at the dance I shouldn't have left the way I did and now look at the state I'm in. Will you please forgive my stupidness? Because I feel like a dumbass-"
"Raven there's nothing to forgive because you are not stupid. It is I who should be asking you for forgiveness. I should not have left with her to the balcony. I promise you I will get her for this because I know she is part of the so-called accident that put you in this state."
" Yes I saw her flying above the accident scene before I went unconscious. I do not know who the driver was of the other vehicle that hit me."
" Neither do we, but when I left here the first time I caught her in the shadows talking on her phone to someone about some plan. When she was in here tonight I thought I almost lost you again. She was ripping out the very cords that are showing us your vital signs. It almost felt like she was ripping out the arteries that are connected to my heart."
"Gar do not go blaming yourself."
"Raven I can't lose you. I feel like my heart is shattering over and over again I really wish I could hear your voice. I'd do anything-"
"To hear my voice eh?"
"Now see I must be delusional since I really am thinking I'm hearing your voice."
"Lookup then."
Beast Boy looked up to a paler then normal looking Raven who had a grin on her face. The shock was overcome by excitement as he took her into his arms. He kissed her first softly on the cheek, but after she returned his kiss, he then proceeded to kiss her passionately on the lips.
"Careful I'm still a little sore." she winced in pain.
He muttered his apologies in her ear sweetly. He just did not want to let her go just yet.
He paged Cyborg, Robin and Starfire down to the medical ward. He wanted Cy to check Raven out to make sure she was okay to come out of the ward and back into her own room. After giving her an exam Cy determined she was fine.
"It seems you being here gives her the power to heal faster. Like your love for her helps overcome those boundaries." He shook his head in dismay.
Starfire gave her best friend a non bone crushing hug while Raven returned one. Robin gave a smile.
"Glad to have you back Raven. Do you remember anything about the accident?" he questioned.
"Dude let her rest. You can interrogate her later."
"Gar it is alright." Raven answered while holding his hand and proceeded to tell the friends what all she remembered from the accident before she had slipped into an unconscious state.
