Chapter 2: The rival (The rising star and the falling comet)

"Dax's POV"

After another week we had finally made it to Magnolia, we were on our way to the guild when I caught a glimpse of something, no make that someone from my past.

"It.... It can't be." I said stopping in my tracks.

"What's wrong bro." Ban said with a worried look.

"It's him," I said pointing, "it's Axel."

"What," he said shakily," there's no way."

He looked at where I was pointing and his jaw dropped, standing at a merchant booth a few feet away was Axel Starling, my one and only rival.

"Axel's POV"

I was standing by a merchant booth when I thought I heard someone talking about me, then I looked over and saw something unbelievable.

"How the hell did he find me?" I thought to myself.

"Maybe I should listen in on their conversation." I thought to myself and started trying to hear their chat.

"So who is this Axel?" a girl that was with him asked.

"He's my brother's oldest rival." Ban said.

"So you guys go way back?" another girl asked.

"Yeah," Dax said, "you could say that."

"Can you tell us what happened between you two?" she asked.

That's when I walked away, I can never forget that day.

It was seven years ago Dax and Ban were going out on a job, Ban asked me to come with them, he wanted Dax and I to get along.

"So I heard you and your brother got another job." I said.

"Yeah," Ban said, "you should come with us."

"I don't know," I said, "your brother doesn't exactly like me."

"Come on," he said, "don't be such a bummer this is your chance to get to know him better."

"I guess but just remember if everything goes to hell this was your idea." I said.

We arrived and assessed the situation, and after that it was time for a plan that's when everything went to shit.

"It will work," I said, "you just have to trust."

"I'm sorry but I can't stand for any plan that would put civilian lives at risk." Dax said.

"And I have to agree with him." Ban said.

"Fine then I guess i'm on my own." I said.

I ran off into the forest, they tried to chase after me but I created a wall of ice to give me time get out of sight. That's when I was attacked by the same thing we were sent to destroy.

"Aaaaaagh!" I yelled as it attacked me.

Then more of them showed up over three dozen at least, and then something unexpected happened.

"Ice dragon roar!" Dax yelled as he froze all of them in one shot.

"What how were you able to freeze them all!" I exclaimed in awe.

"We're not done," he said, "now it's your turn Ban."

"Ok but only if you insist." Ban said sarcastically.

"Just do it already!" he yelled.

"Alright you got it," he said, "shadow stance one thousand strikes."

Everything became dark and then in the blink of an eye all of the frozen monsters shattered.

"So this is the power of the Drakor brothers, "I thought, "even so I can never forgive them for what they've done."

After that I passed out, later I woke in my bed at home with Dax and Ban sitting next to me.

"You should have stayed with us." Ban said.

"Why the hell did you run off." Dax said.

"Because you don't trust me and in turn I can't trust you." I said simply.

"How can you say that after we saved your life." Ban said in shock.

"I will never forgive you for that," I said, "you destroyed my pride by doing that."

"What the hell is wrong with you." Dax said irritated.

"I won't try to explain myself to someone like you," I said, "but I will tell you this i'm leaving and I won't be coming back."

"What!" Ban yelled.

"Fine by me," Dax said, "good riddance."

"I hope I never see you again." I said.

"Same here." he said.

And with that I left and eventually found myself here. I joined fairy tail and have been taking some of their job requests ever since.

"But now he's found me and things are bound to end badly," I thought, "oh well I better head back to the guild and have a few drinks to take my mind off it."

And with that little thought I returned only to end up having a drinking contest with Cana.

"Elaine's POV"

"Ok guys lets get a good night's sleep," I said, "after all we're going to the guild tomorrow and we need to make a good impression if we want to join.

"Sure shorty you got it." Ban said with a smirk.

"Shut up and go to sleep meany." I said pouting.

"Awe puppy love." Asuna and Dax said in unison.

"Shut up ice lovers!" Ban and I said in unison.

"Well in any case i'm going to sleep," Asuna said, "goodnight everyone."

"Goodnight." we all said.
