SCOTT'S POV
It's been a week and a half already. Dawson and Eli finally started talking to each other last week. Dawson would tell Eli some random jokes, and often flash her a charming smile. Eli on the other hand would laugh or giggle. There's something weird going on though. They both would smile at each other, but their eyes were just, empty. They didn't have that, that thing other people called "spark." I caught Eli laughing with Dawson one time, and as soon as he left, the smile on her face disappeared, like she didn't even laugh at all. This is getting boring. I even enjoyed seeing Dawson's reaction whenever I took Eli away from him back on the first week of school. What exactly is going on?
I walked towards the gym as soon as I got to school. I didn't need to change since I already had a gym strip on. I saw Eli from afar, she smiled at me so I smiled back and continued to walk. "So, what's up?" I started as soon as I sat beside her.
"We're gonna practice rock climbing today." she replied with a sigh.
"What's up with the sigh?" I grinned at her.
"Oh uh, nothing." she fake smiled.
"You're not afraid of heights, are you?." I smirked.
"I'm not!" she replied defensively. I didn't believe her, but I nodded my head anyways. "I'm telling the truth!" she hit my arm.
"Ow!" I snickered. "I didn't say anything."
"You're face was!" she lightly pushed me.
"Oh was it." I leaned my face closer to hers, she immediately pushed my face with the palm of her hand.
"Stop doing that!" she complained.
"Doing what?" I played innocent. I love seeing her get flustered about these kind of things. I've been doing that these past few days. Well of course, there are limits whenever Dylan's around.
"Whenever you bring your face so close and charmingly play with my emotions!" she yelled. "What do you expect? That I'd fall for you?! Excuse me." she flipped her hair.
"Why are you being so defensive then?" I smirked. "And did you just tell me I'm charming?"
She turned beet red, then she glared, scrunched her nose at me and left. I've been hanging out with Dylan and Eli for a while now, and I'm actually quite enjoying their company. I got to know them somehow. Dylan is the hardworking type I guess. His family's pretty wealthy, but he still chooses to work part time and earn for himself. While Eli is the clever and ,at the same time, innocent type of girl. I've seen the way Dylan treats her, and as a guy, I don't think he gives her the brotherly or the best friend type of treatment.
"Hey Scott." Dawson greeted me out of nowhere.
"Oh hey, didn't see you there." I greeted back.
"Did class start yet?" he asked.
"Nah." I replied. He started stretching and looking around which gave me an idea that he might be looking for someone. Hmm. "Looking for Eli?" I smirked. This is the part where he gets flustered and tries to defend himself. One, two, and-
"Oh yeah, sure. Where is she?" he asked nonchalantly. Yeah? Sure? What? So basically he just agreed on what I said?
"Uh..." I started. When I realized that we wasn't paying attention anyway, I decided to just change the topic. After a couple of minutes Eli walked into the gym, looking at her phone. As soon as she reached me, she just stood there still scrolling through her phone. I guess she didn't notice Dawson.
