Sophie POV
After walking for hours we had stopped to take a break. My ankles were swollen and I was almost frozen. I wish i was a horse then i would have a thick coat to keep me warm.
The ground was damp and strewn with discarded twigs but it was better than nothing so I flopped to the ground. Luckily i had packed my rope and halter so storm wouldn't have ulcers from the bit. My heavy eyelids dropped sooner than when i hit the ground.
-----------------
It was only an hour later when i awoke with a piercing pain in my leg. The flax i had wrapped around the cut came loose. It had just started to rain and every drop was agony. It would do more good than harm though as an infection had set in and hurt when I moved.
Storm slept easily from the lengthy walk. The sweat that had dried on his blanket was going to get irritating, I should probably leave the saddle behind so it doesn't rub it in.
After another hour of attempted sleep it was time to start off. The thought of walking through here absolutely terrified me.
7 hours later
Step after step i almost dragged myself along the dirt. My stomach growled in need of a single bite of food. It didn't help that i was thinking of cheesecake and chicken. Uhh why cant i think of anything else.
SNAP!
What was that? My mind raced, i only hoped it was a deer or rabbit. Please oh please oh please just let me live.

Chris POV (new character)
It was an early rise this morning. My dad forced me to get out of bed to scout the forest. My family and i were werewolves, i had only shifted a few years back. I slipped on my navy blue jeans and black shirt then headed to the kitchen.
"Morning"
"Why are you up so early?"
My brother looked up wide eyed with his brown hair all messed up. He almost never slept, no one knows why. After my brief brekkie i started at the south of our territory. It was really quiet here being furthest away from civilization so it ended up being the place i spend most of my time at.
I shifted to cut the time in half. My wolf was deep brown in colour with a white strip running down from my neck to the bottom of my shoulder.
The trip took only seconds when i arrived to the border. It wasn't as i remembered it. Branches were scattered around like they were tumbled through. A few drops of blood dried on the ground indicating something or someone is injured.
I explored the scene for a further 2 hours when i spied a girl with sandy blonde hair and slightly tanned skin. I suspect she was the one that caused the damage just by the look of her bleeding leg and scratches. I would have never suspected that she owned a horse.
SNAP!
oh shit how could i not look where I'm walking. Her bloodshot eyes stared at me. They were the most beautiful things i have seen. Then it popped in to my head.
She was my mate.
