******?????? POV******
I had arrived at his house only for it to reveal the remains of the rest of my family. What the hell did he himself into this time. I'd been taking care of him ever since our parents left. He had a devious mark in his heart after that and would get revenge for the smallest of things.
The scent of wolf filled the place and I wasn't sure whether to thank them or kill them. I already have enough to deal with right now. The clan had been cut down in numbers because of hunters. They think its right to murder us for what we are.
I walked downstairs to the basement to see if I could find him. Yep he took it way too far. His mangled body lay there within the ruins.
I will kill who ever did this. And I recognize his scent...
####Chris POV####
We had slept the night at their house but this morning was full of tension. Soph had ignored me by talking to Katie and Nicky about god knows what. I contacted a few of my friends to see if they knew of any places to stay but refused to talk to me. So I was stuck staring at the empty paddocks and clouded sky.
Mr Collins came out with two mugs in his hands, passing one to me. We sat on the porch in silence.
"So um sorry for earlier, we've been havin' a couple of problems here. It seems everyone is though. The pack next to us found one of their members murdered on their territory just last week." Mr Collins glanced at his daughters while he spoke.
"What... Why?"
"I dunno, some rumors say she committed suicide others say vampire," Shit it wasn't just us, "I've gotta go this afternoon, you can stay a little longer but you should tell her grandfather, he's been worried sick."
"Yeah, Thanks," I said relaxing my muscles in the warm sunlight. We talked for a few more minutes before I left to attempt to talk to Sophie. She still looked pissed at me but I had to take my chances.
"Soph, can we talk," I said approaching the pale concrete next to the tying post's. She angrily stomped towards her friends, avoiding my gaze.
"You can ignore me all you want but I'm still gonna talk." My fists clenched and I release a breath I didn't realize I was holding. Here it goes. "Our packs had this battle. I was only young so I know very little about it. My pack was taking land because of the increase of our pack. They had so much land it wasn't funny. After three years they attacked, killing over a hundred innocent people. Obviously we fought back. In the process my father and his followers killed more than half of of his pack... including his mate. I hate my father for that but was something I had to live with. It is NOT my fault. And if anyone accuses me of that, they will regret it."
Her face was stuck in an expression of shock and disgust. I stepped towards her quickly, elapsing her in a hug. She squeezed back, gripping the back of my shirt.
"I..I didn't know," we stood back and she rested her soft hand on my cheek.
"I didn't want you to know, but..." my hand reached to hers, removing it without another word.
"But?" she said holding back tears.
"But you aren't meant to be involved in my problems, I have fucked up heaps these last days and this didn't help. I'm sorry."
"There's nothing to be sorry about, you didn't start this."
"Yes I did."
"No, you didn't, stop beating yourself up. OK?" After she said that I couldn't hold back a smirk.
"OK," I said both of us smiling in the end, "This is why I love you, you are so persistent."
Time seemed to slow down. I leant down the same time she rose up. Our lips met and it felt like heaven. Not to be gushy or anything but this was the most amazing moment of my life.
