Just to note when she was riding it was around a 5 hour ride involving galloping and trotting so probably cuts the time in half, so may have been a full 12 to 15 hours walking. yes it is long.

Sophie POV

I stared at this dark brown wolf. It was the most terrifying moment of my life. But why wasn't he attacking me or storm. His green eyes never looked away, wait wolfs don't have green eyes. Okay now I'm freaking out.

Although my leg was in tremendous pain i jogged to storm and pulled myself. It was weird sitting bareback. I urged him in to a fast canter, hopefully the wolf doesn't chase us.

Chris POV

Why did she run away? Oh no i didn't shift back she probably thought i was a real wolf. Quickly i ran towards home to grab some clothes so i wouldn't shock her.

Her horse was absolutely terrified, I didn't mean to scare them. I just decided i might see where they're going in case they run into a rival pack. I just remembered i hid some clothes for an emergency. Quickly i shifted and changed in the the clothes.

"Hey! Stop!" I screamed at the top of my voice.

She halted her horse, turned and glared with her tear pricked eyes.

"Who are you?" she cried with a cracked voice.

She almost broke me when her voice lined with sadness spoke. I couldn't bear to see her like this.

"I'm Chris, whats your name?"

She wheeled her horse around, "Sophie", she said.

"Are you all right?" I asked.

"yeah its a long story, where are you from? i haven't seen you around here ever".

What was i supposed to say, I've been hiding in the woods for 16 years. i really had to come up with something quick. "Um i , i".

She stared as if she had to run away so i came up with the best i could. "My dad takes me to a school where he works," i hope she believes me.

"oh where is that?"

"Hamilton"

"Wow so ages away" she looked in shock.

"yeah i usually have to get up really early", i tried to hide a chuckle. "So would you like to come with me, we can tidy up that leg of yours."

She looked cautiously to her leg as if she had forgotten completely about it. "Yes, please, i hope the walk isn't long ".

Sophie POV

I wonder were he actually lives. Hamilton is about an hour away from here and even then no one would drive that far for a job but i can barely walk and me and storm really need rest and food.

~~half an hour later~~

We had arrived to this very modern two story house which i suspect is his. It has been unusually quiet on the way home.

"This is really embarrassing but I forgot, whats you're name?" i asked with the rest of the energy i had. i really need a break.

"I'm Christopher but I always get called Chris". Huh Chris, never heard of a Chris around here.

We stepped through the sliding door in to this massive lounge, WOW no wonder his dad goes all the way to Hamilton. It had a giant flat screen, a cream lazy boy sofa and a lot of other thing i don't even know the name of. Storm was taken to they're stables to be taken care of.

"Just hop up here while i grab the first aid kit" he said as he tapped the stool next to the island in the kitchen. Luckily it wasn't very high. He came back with a small green bag that had the antiseptic cream, medical thread and needle already out.

"Tell me about yourself "he said threading the needle.

"Why?"

"Its the only thing that will take your mind off the pain". I was hoping there was some anesthetic.

"Well my full name is Sophie Kate Stephens, I'm 17 years old, i live with my grandpa and baby brother Harry, my parents were killed while we lived in Dunedin by this guy that was drunk, we moved here to Otorohanga after my uncle had money problems and was kicked out of his house. My brother had to go to a hospital as he was only a year old and needed special care. Me, i went to this riding school because i was under stress and it was cheaper than counseling. There i met storm. He was a rejected horse that had been bought originally for a pro jumper but after he fractured his spine he sold him and had been through too many homes than a horse is supposed to go through. My grandpa bought him so he could train. Now Storm and i are competing at the HOYS next year," by the time i had finished he had stitched up the wound on my leg and a cut on my torso.

"All done, now I'll get you something to eat, afterwards I have to tell you something"
