Gloss followed the trail until she caught sight of a group of four. Link was flinging his sword around in circles while Zelda was keeping her distance from him because of that, and Kenya and Ashtrin were speaking about something. But a bit of quivering of one of their voices could be heard. She did overhear a little on their conversation, and she was sure she heard Zelda speaking of a loud "Sonic boom of energy".
"W-w-what did she turn into?" It was Ash's voice that was shaking. "She.... turned into some sort of heavenly warrior. Just like those in the Prophecy of the Ethereal Power."
"Ash," Kenya said looking to her sister. "I don't know much about what Gloss can do, but whatever it is, if it is Heaven's power, then she could be hunted down."
"She's half immortal, Kenya. Doesn't that mean she can't die from attacks?"
"No. Inca said that she could only be immune to illnesses. She said she thinks she'll be a bit immune to certain magic attacks, but the wizards and doctors weren't too sure on that. I never thought you really cared for Gloss."
"I'm still shocked myself," Gloss interrupted slowly descending towards the ground. Zelda gasped and ran to hug her friend, and everyone else stayed still. Smiling, Gloss hugged her back. "What even happened to me, back there?" she asked while pulling back.
"You weren't conscious?" Zelda asked. "But you... you began to fight off with Dalton and us."
"I just don't get what happened," Gloss said. "I remember seeing Dalton, and.... I started to fade away into this white light."
"Gloss, I just noticed how much power your wings are giving out," she replied. "It's almost like.... You made that sonic boom, didn't you?" Her eyes were full of curiosity and awe.
"I was trying to find you guys, and Dalton was there-"
"Wait," Link said suddenly. "Dalton took care of you?"
"Yes...?"
"It has been confirmed!" he said raising his hands in the air. "Dalton loves Gloss! Tell the world that the angel and guard are in love!"
"Link!" Zelda said smacking his arm. "Give Gloss a break. Just because Dalton took care of her doesn't mean he loves her. He's just caring."
"I've never seen him do that for one of his fellow interns."
"Maybe because he doesn't like them."
"Or he loves her."
"Okay, you two are going to make me go crazy," Gloss said. "Now, how do I stop my wings from giving off this obnoxious glow?"
Zelda laughed. "Here. Allow me." She briefly touched all of Gloss' feathers, and they immediately turned back to just being a golden color. "How did you find us, anyways? You just appeared randomly."
"I gained this power from the chant you taught me, and I was able to follow the heat trail of your steps."
"Angelic magic," Ashtrin blurted.
"What?" Gloss said looking towards her sisters.
"Only an angel can see heat trails," Kenya explained. "As it goes, by the prophecy, those with the power of an angel will turn into a warrior of an odd creature from above. Man cannot kill it, but it can be weakened greatly. Only the creature can harm itself to be dead."
Gloss then remembered the way she looked. Or, at least the parts she was able to see. Her legs felt lighter, even though she looked like she was made of iron, and she had quick reflexes. She remembered the way- even under his helm- Dalton looked tired out when she struck. Her thin, metallic arms were as thin as those of a weak man on the street, yet it seemed to be stronger than a diamond pillar.
"So you're saying that I turned into a Heavenly creature?" Gloss asked Kenya.
"You are an angel," Ash replied. "It is told that Heaven's angels can turn into anything if they need to."
"Then... what did I morph into?"
"We don't know," Link said. "It looked nothing like any animal we've seen. Maybe you could've been a holy version of Ents."
"Walking trees haven't been seen since ancient times, Link," Ash said. "Though, it could be possible that she turned into one."
"Let's just get onto the mission," Gloss said. "We'll learn about what I turned into back at Arendelle. Okay?" Everyone sighed, but all agreed to the plan. Gloss nodded and led the way to where the caves should be. What confused her more was the fact that this energy force kept growning with each step she took. However, it was oddly familiar and welcoming....
