Gloss woke up, not in pain, but feeling light-headed. She sat up, and she noticed she was back in the Ether. What happened down on on Earth? A vision then flashed in her mind. Pain, blood, shouts, her sisters.... Did she die?
"Gloss," Hydra's voice spoke. "The time... it's... you were...."
"I was what?" Gloss asked. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No... your vision came true."
"What? What vision?"
"Come..." she sighed. "There's... something you should know. It's about the time we all told you something."
Hydra gestured Gloss to follow into the Angel's Court. They both came in front of this small door with the symbol of a sun on it. Gloss' eyes widened at the sight. The Sun Angel's room was just beyond this door.
"Open it," Hydra commanded. "Look inside."
Gloss did as she was told and opened the golden door. When she was revealed to the room, it wasn't as the stories had said. It was quite dark and dim. Books were dusty and everywhere, the armor stand was untouched and covered in cobwebs, and everything just seemed... unused.
"Hydra," she said. "I haven't seen the Sun Angel yet. Where is she?"
"You're.... you are the Sun Angel, Gloss."
"W-what? What are you talking about? I'm just-"
"What about your wings? Your power? Your immortality? Changing into Ents? That's all the Sun Angel's abilities, are they not?"
Suddenly, everything started to come to Gloss. She was so much stronger than the other guards because she was the Sun Angel. She never became sick from the horrid diseases that infected the land because she was the Sun Angel. Gloss had her wings because they were hers.
"Hydra," she said. "I died back on Earth. How can I possibly come back with the way I am now?"
"Gloss, a human body doesn't live forever. However, a human soul- an angel- never dies. It's just the way we are created."
"Hydra, why in the Ether would I want to come to Earth?"
"That's what I'm trying to get to. You have visions, and... you predicted that Jeweled Dragon's attack on Arendelle. You even predicted your own death." She then took a deep sigh. "Follow me."
She took Gloss to the Court's table. It showed a large moving picture of Arendelle. This must be how they saw them. She touched it a few times until they came to the arena. Everyone was crowded around Gloss' bloodied body.
Zelda was crying her eyes out and hiding her face in Link's chest while he tried to console her. Kenya was holding her hand over her mouth, horrified and shocked. Ashtrin was holding her in her arms and screaming for her death. Dalton and Aldis were arguing over something, and she could see guilt and fear in Aldis's eyes.
Gloss needed to calm down. She took deep and slow breaths. She knew Hydra could tell she was getting fussed up over this situation. Gloss decided to just ask something simple and easy to get her mind off of everything. Something that made her come here in the first place.
"This is much less intense than everything else that's been going through my mind, but I was getting very dizzy and nauseous. Was it something from that drink that I was given?"
"It was. In fact, one of the sorceress's interns-" she pointed to Aldis. "-put something in your drink."
Gloss' head then spun around a new idea. Aldis was putting something into that glass. What even was that drink? It tasted strong and it burned her mouth like a fire. Did he... did he put that spell so Dalton could defeat me?
"Was that drink wine, by any chance?" I asked. "It didn't seem like cider."
"And it wasn't cider either," Hydra sighed. "It was a strong beverage, but not wine. It was something called Rakia. It is something called an alcohol which can make something feel woozy and even go unconscious from a certain amount. Wine is also an alcohol, but it takes more than a few sips for the effect to take place. Seeing how you don't drink, it was pretty easy for you to become like that."
Gloss' head began to pound. Did angels feel pain? Did anything immortal feel pain? Did she really think she'd be able to handle all of this information? Nothing logically came together, and it was quite strange.
"What now?" I asked.
"You stay with us," she stated with a small smile. "You can come home."
Was this place really home? Gloss thought. She began to remember silly and funny moments with her sisters and friends. She was reminded of the time when she was piled with snow by Ash because she and Kenya beat her in a snowball contest.
She never thought she would be able to forget that moment when her mother surprised her with the sword she uses to this day. It had a golden handle with a shiny, iron blade. If she said a certain phrase- cum autem crevisset herba et alas accersi- silver wings shot out from it. They were like boomerangs that would come back to you and slice through objects like butter.
And Gloss hasn't unrecognized the time when she first met Dalton and Aldis. She was a bit weak at the time because she was taking care of some sick civilians with Link at the castle. Aldis had cast a spell that made one of the flowers in the pot become a snake, and it slithered right towards Gloss.
She was so frightened, so when she stumbled backwards, she bumped right into Dalton. He was carrying a few books for Zelda and was about to drop the pile until Gloss used her magic to levitate them. She still won't forget the amazed look on his childish face, but it wasn't very nice when she collapsed from weakness and fatigue.
"Hydra," Gloss then said. "Please say there is some way to get back to Earth."
Hydra's face expression changed from happy and joyful to confused and worried.
"Why?" she asked. "Is there something wrong?"
"I have such fond memories from Earth, and knowing that the entire town is grieving over me... it breaks my heart."
Hydra's eyes glanced back and forth between Gloss's friends and Gloss herself. Gloss felt tears entering her eyes, and they fell onto the map. As it dropped onto the table, this white light surrounded Gloss. She back up as she realize what was happening.
"Just be warned, Young Angel," Hydra said. "There's more ahead. More danger and adventure."
Before she could leave, Gloss gave a big embrace to Hydra.
"I'll come back, one day," she whispered. "Thank you."
"Don't thank me," she replied while returning the hug. "Thank the blonde haired Intern. He's the one bringing you back."
And with that, all Gloss could hear was herself gasping for breath as everyone gasped with surprise.
