It was August 17th, the day Kellin would be home. We hadn’t seen him in over a month and all I wanted to do was be with him.
“Well, someone’s happy,” Taylor commented as I walked into work that day. I had a huge smile on my face and I couldn’t wipe it away.
“Kellin’s coming home today,” I explained. I hadn’t felt this happy in a long time.
“That explains it. What time?” she questioned as she cleaned off a table.
“Around seven,” I replied helping her clear away the dirty plates. I was hoping today would go fast so I could see Kellin.
After work, I picked up the kids from Kellin’s parents and made my way. It was already 6:30 when we got home, which meant I would have to wait another half an hour to see Kellin. It would be agonizing, but well worth it.
As soon as we got home, Rowan and Liam settled in to watch some TV while they waited and I put Copeland in her crib. I sat down next to my sons and looked at the time. About fifteen minutes until Kellin would be home and I couldn’t wait.
Suddenly, I heard the door open and the three of us shot up from our seats. I practically ran to the door and threw my arms around Kellin. His hands were occupied by his suitcase so he couldn’t hug back, but I didn’t really mind. “I missed you so much,” he whispered into my ear. I felt a smile form on my face. I let him go after giving him a big kiss and he gave the boys a hug.
“Where’s Copeland?” he asked. I could tell that he couldn’t wait to see her.
“She’s in her crib,” I replied and with that he made his way to her room. I followed him and walked in as he was picking her up and telling her how much he had missed her. She rubbed her eyes with her little fists and looked up at her father with the cutest little expression. He kissed her forehead.
We went back into the living room, Kellin with Copeland in his arms, and we settled down on the couch to caught each other up. The boys told Kellin about everything from what they did at his parents’ house to how the trips with their dad were. He listened intently until Rowan asked how his tour.
“It was awesome. We met so many amazing fans, but it would’ve been better if you guys could’ve been there,” he replied giving me a quick kiss. He continued to tell them about the fans and how her missed them.
Liam and Rowan didn’t end up going to bed until almost ten and they were yawning nonstop. Copeland had already fallen asleep in Kellin’s arms
“Ok, I think it’s time for bed,” I told the boys, who groaned, but followed my orders and headed upstairs. I followed and tucked them in after they were changed into their pajamas. Kellin put Cope in her crib and we went into our room. I quickly changed into my own pajamas and so did Kellin.
We both got in bed and I snuggled up close to him. He put his arms around me. I had been waiting so long to feel those arms wrapped around me and it had been well worth the wait.
“I missed you so much,” he whispered playing with my hair. I smiled up at him.
“I missed you, too. We all did,” I replied.
I wished he didn’t have to tour, but I knew another tour was coming up with Pierce The Veil after this and he’s have to leave again. I wished we could stay like this forever. I wanted to stay in his arms for the rest of my life. It still confused me how I managed to get along with him for so long.
He laid a kiss on the top of my head. Him telling me he loved me was the last thing I heard before I ended up falling asleep.
