After work, I picked up Copeland from Kellin's parent's. The boys were coming home today. The week had went by pretty fast, even though it had been a little too quiet all week. I was glad they were coming. Not seeing my boys for a week was killing me.
Cope seemed tired when we got home, so I put her in her crib and went in the living room to wait for Liam and Rowan. I turned on the TV and I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew, there was a knock at the door. I stood up groggily and opened the door.
"Hi, Mom, Liam exclaimed.
"Hey, Liam," I said stooping down to give him and Rowan a hug. It felt good to be able to hug them again. "Hi, Mom," Rowan greeted hugging me back.
"Hi, Row," I replied, "Go get ready for bed, ok? It's getting late."
"Ok," they said reluctantly and went to their room.
"Were they ok for you and Lucy?" I asked Rob.
"Yeah, they were good. I think they're warming up to Lucy," he told me. Warming up to Lucy? I've met the girl. She's a complete and utter bitch and hates kids. How could they be "warming up" to her?
I raised my eyebrows. "Ok," I told him, sounding unsure.
"What? You don't believe me?" he asked, obviously offended.
"I didn't say that," I replied.
"You implied it," he countered.
"Thanks for taking them with you guys. It was nice to have a little quietness in the house," I told him, changing the subject.
"No problem. You know, they're my kids, too," he said. Half the time it didn't seem like he wanted anything to do with them, though.
"I know," I replied. I had them 90% of the time, not that I was complaining. I wanted them way more than he did I'm sure.
"Do you think they might want to come to the shore with me and Lucy in August?" he asked.
"Yeah, I think they'd like that," I told him with a smile. He was trying, that's what mattered and I thought the boys would have fun at the beach.
"Ok, well, I'll call you when we're going to go," he told me.
"Ok, see you," I said as he walked out the door. I closed it behind and went to bed.
