Sparks of The End

Chapter 3

   As the zombies circled around them, Sjin cried out, "Minty! Damn it." He said using his sword to block a blow from a zombie, and then turning to slash through it. "Can we fly away?" Lalna shouted over the sounds of growls and moans.

    "No, they'll follow us or guard the place their holding Minty!" Xephos screamed back.

   "Coward." Rythian replied under his breath so only Zoey could hear him. In a tough situation like this, she smiled at this comment.

   Rythian could hear a range of weapons, from lasers to the small clash of iron swords.

   "We're never gonna get out of this!" Honeydew shouted at the top of his lungs. "I really think we should fly up." Nilesy said, after a zombie almost chomped him but Panda swiped its head with his sword.

   "Up!" Lalna said as he activated his flying ring and went up. Zoey looked at Rythian, and then Teep, and then Rythian again and he sighed. Teep didn't have a flying ring, so Zoey and Rythian both grabbed his arms and hauled him up over the monsters. He knew Zoey would break eventually, so he called Honeydew over to help him take Zoey's place. And the dinosaur seemed quite amused at their struggles.

   "We can't leave Minty." Sjin argued with Xephos when he said they would have to continue the quest forth.

   "Of course we can't leave Minty, but do you seriously think we stand a chance exhausted?" Lomadia countered. Sjin let out a curt sigh and crossed his arms flying back over to Sips.

   "We gotta g-get to a city." Honeydew grunted under the weight of Teep. Rythian strained to help him just a bit more.

   "Sips, Sparkles, can you help them with the dinosaur? Besides that, we do." Xephos went on tapping his chin, he opened his mouth several times but no words came out. "Errgh, anywhere we go would most likely lead to Israp-" Xephos stated, but was interrupted by Honeydew who was breathing normally with out the extra weight. "Can we please not say his name." Xephos opened his mouth to say something, but closed it and nodded.

   "What are we gonna do, we can't hold this dinosaur forever." Sparkles complained, and Xephos sighed.

   Zoey whispered in Rythian's ear, "Rythian, you know-" "No Zoey." Rythian answered before she could finish. He looked behind him to see her put her hands on her hips and say, "You didn't even know what I was gonna suggest." And he rolled his eyes back at her, "Yes I did." She glared at him and then he sighed.

   "We could all stay at Blackrock, it's the closest of all of our homes." Zoey said turning to everyone with a hopefully smile on her face.

"You would be okay with that." Lomadia asked, biting her lip.

   "Of course." Zoey smiled widely and gestured for everyone to follow. Flying a ways with a dinosaur in between them was hard enough, Rythian wasn't thrilled that they would all be staying at Blackrock. And even though, it was still a ways away from the river they had been camping around.

   Xephos explained on the way there, that the river would be their travel root, after Minty was rescued.

   Seeing the castle was reassuring to Rythian, he knew his own territory very well. When they landed, Rythian, Sparkles, Sips, and Honeydew let go of Tee who signaled Zoey and retreated to the back of the castle.

   "It's a bit of a mess, but it'll be okay for shelter either way." Zoey blushed, walking up to the doors. Rythian followed and everyone hesitantly stumbled after them.

   "Beware the hole!" Zoey sang as she flew/jumped over the hole and Rythian caught her as she almost slipped. She smiled gratefully at him before opening the doors to their lounge.
