Standing in the armoury, it's one of the biggest rooms. I look around at all the weaponry that has been acquired over the years. The walls are covered in shotguns, machine guns, pistols and every other type of weapon you can think of. But I don't get my armaments from this room here. Walking past the weapons I come upon a small door set in the wall. I walk through and enter a room smaller than the main armoury, but it is still a reasonable size. The room is filled with restored weaponry. I walk over to a large crossbow hanging on the wall. I carefully remove it from the wall and inspect it. It has a drum on the underside of it. The drums hold around twenty bolts. I remove the drum and check that it is loaded. Once that is done, I sling it across my back and remove a long, thin sword from another wall. I sheath the sword to my waist and I head towards the door. I'm just about at the door when I see them. Two perfectly crafted daggers form an ‘X’ on the wall. I carefully lower them from the wall and inspect them. They are both perfectly weighted and are razor sharp. I slide them into the sheaths on my legs and exit the room.
Meera is standing by one of the walls as I walk out. She pulls a long tube off the wall and slings it over her back.
“Well, what do you think?” I say to Meera as she turns around and I gesture around the armoury.
“It's amazing. There is just so much.” She is awed.
“Is that a grenade launcher?” I gesture to the tube she has on her back.
“Yep. This might be helpful as well.” She pulls a shotgun off the wall and pumps it.
She has her belt filled with shotgun shells and a few 40mm grenades. I have two spare drums hanging from my belt and also a red drum that I found. I have no idea what it does, I just liked the colour. As we exit the armoury I notice two pistols holstered on her thighs.
We walk in silence to the teleporters. I'm walking slightly ahead of her, trying to think of a good plan, when the director steps in front of me. I stop suddenly and Meera nearly walks into me.
“Ah Rory, there you are.”
“Here I am.”
“I just wanted to see you before you leave.”
“Well, you’ve seen me. What do you want?” I ask bluntly.
“The Infersia training camp must be destroyed.” He holds out a rucksack and gestures for me to take it.
As I take it from his hands he says “That is an ionic collider.” I grasp the bag tighter.
“I don’t even want to hold this now.” I say not wanting the bag but also not wanting to drop it.
“What's an ionic collider?” Meera asks.
“It is a small scale super weapon. It was created to decimate small towns and cities. It doesn’t leave a trace of anything behind, except for a crater.” Meera looks horrified.
“Don't worry Rory. It has been reinforced. It will only detonate when it is supposed to. It can withstand anything. I wouldn't take my word though. Just be careful with it.” He walks off leaving me with the ionic collider.
“Well then, let’s go.” I start walking again.
“You’re taking that with us?” Meera asks shocked.
“Don't see why not. Anyway I trust the directors’ judgement about it being resistant.” I continue walking and Meera follows
We enter the teleporter room and I gently place the rucksack on the ground. I pick up two teleporters and hand them both to Meera.
