This is not a continuation.

My apologies if I could not make a Part 2 of Snippet 3. I had all the intentions to but things happened, and apparently, we dont always push through with our original plans. Nevertheless, I had a Plan B in the form of a new snippet so i hope you enjoy reading. Peace and Love.

Tahimik lang kami.

Actually, siya lang pala.

Her mind seemed to be drifting into space ever since the movie was on. Typically, she'd be tucked under my arm or hiding behind me or a pillow when we watch horror but this time around, she was staring blankly at the screen.

I checked for the time and it was near three in the morning. We were in the living room of my house along with some close friends and my siblings, just enjoying the night. Well, except for her. She doesnt seem to enjoy at all.

Hinayaan ko nalang. Knowing Alyssa, she would only talk when she's ready to. But every now and then, I peak at her making sure she was still in check.

Halfway through, our friends went up to sleep. Yes, we were having a sleepover. The only ones left were Dani, Aly, Thirdy and I.

Bigla akong kinalabit ni Dani who was lying on the couch behind me. She motioned for me to follow her outside so I signaled Thirdy to look after Aly while I was gone.

Upon reaching the garden, I stopped Dani.

Kief: Bakit, may problema ba?

Dani: Manong. S-si Ate Ly p-po. Is she okay?

I was not shocked by her question. Typical Dani. Madali talaga siyang makaramdam sa mga bagay bagay and with how things were inside, im sure she picked up the tension very quickly.

It wasnt exactly hard to notice. Alyssa had the best mood when we started earlier in the night, and that turned completely upside down later.

Unfortunately for me, I didnt know how to answer Dani properly. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako.

Kief: Honestly Dan, I think she's not. Something's bothering her and I wouldnt want to push her into telling me about it. Baka mag-away lang kami.

Dani started pacing back and forth with her hands on her chin as if thinking of something. Titingin siya sa kin sandali tapos titingin na naman sa grass. Ano bang problema ng batang to? It seems like she was hiding something from me. Or  she was having trouble telling me something.

I got worried.

Kief: Dani. Is there anything I need to know?

Hay Salamat. She stood still na and stared at me before taking a huge breath.

Dani: Manong, I think I know what's bothering Ate Ly.

Knowing my sister, she would not prank me in times like these. She knows how much my girlfriend means to me. Evidently, worry was also written over her face. She has treated and loved Alyssa like her own sister. She's protective of her and seeing her like this made me think this was a serious matter.

Kief: What is it?

Dani: Promise me you wont flip out muna.

I raised my right hand to promise but instead, she offered her pinky finger. Inabot ko naman yun and made a pinky swear.

Dani: I swear Im gonna cut off your pinky if you break that promise.

She looked so determined saying that. It was cute but I restrained myself from smiling. A serious Dani was not the best version of her so might as well be safe.
