A/N: Okay so kinda at a writers block. Sorry this chapter took so long to publish. I hope you are liking it. Comment and vote! THANK YOU!!!! - BlackNeon
Traveling sucks with a broken leg. James is not about rest either. Aren't I suppose to be leading? I "know" where the safe haven is, so why is James leading?
"Hey, James! Do you know where the safe haven is?" I call out to James who is a little ways in front of me scouting the area.
"Kinda. I know the general direction. I think I can got you more of the way there."
"Okay. As long as you know where you are going."
Sasha speaks up, "Hey Erik, how are you holding up?"
"I am okay. Thanks for asking."
She blushes, "No problem. So you know about us a little bit, but we know nothing about you."
"Oh yeah, I guess that's true. Okay well what do you want to know?"
"I don't know. Anything, and everything."
"Everything! That's going to take a long time."
She laughs, "Okay, okay. Maybe not everything. What did you do, in your spare time?"
"I use to run and play football."
"Wow! So it must suck having a broken leg."
"Yeah, it does. Plus I have never broken a bone before. I only have one sister, and I hope is she out there somewhere save."
"How old, and what's her name."
"Annabell. She is only five."
"And she's all alone!"
"No she is with my...." I paused. What was Lindsey to me?
"Your mother and father?"
"No my friend. My parents dead by the disease."
"I'm sorry. Mine did too. James says that it'll be fine, and that dad and mom would want us to keep going, but I'm not sure anymore."
"You know what my dad told me once? He said to protect my sister, and that he would not be there, so I needed to be strong and keep pushing on."
"Okay so my parents will want me to keep going, like you said."
"Yes. They would not want you to die, but live as long as you can."
"Hey guys, if I am not interrupting anything you should come here." James yells to us.
"What is it James?" Sasha asks.
"That..." James points to a road just ahead of us.
It was covered with died bodies. They looked like freaks, but from this far I am not sure. Who could have done this?
It hits me, "Lindsey!"
"Who?" James asks still looking at the mass slather of bodies.
"She was traveling with me, her and my sister. They must have been here. She is the only person I know to be able to kill this many zombies!" I run up to one of the zombie bodies, "There's an arrow! It's them!" I sigh out in relief.
"That's good. James we have to find them for Erik."
"Why?"
"Because he saved us. We have to repay him."
"They would be going to the safe haven, like us. They traveled this way." I say.
"Okay, fine!" James starts to walk the way I told him to, "Wait. Should you lead, crippled?"
"I'm not crippled! And yes, I am tired of following someone." James and I give each other an evil eye, and I walk ahead.
I see Sasha nudge James from the corner of my eye. I think she is more on my side than her own brother. It does not help that I think she likes me. If we find Lindsey, no when we find Lindsey, things might get complicated. I am a little worried, but I hope Lindsey will know that I like her. Plus Sasha is to young for me, and is not my type. I am kinda scared to tell her that though.
I am leading the way, not really sure where I am going, but following the signs that Lindsey would have used. There are fires, footprints, and traps that look like the ones Lindsey uses, so I follow those. My leg is already feeling better, so it makes traveling faster. Lindsey and Annabell would be traveling twice the speed though. We need to pick up the pace. Sasha seems like she is getting tired, but I don't want to stop. I have to though. I can't travel with a slow party.
"Okay guys, let's stop and rest for the night."
"Thank goodness! I was so tired." Sasha says almost too excited.
We lay down, and the twins fall asleep instantly. I knew they were tired. For only being 13 they are troops. I admire them. Cody even would have been complaining, and he is 14.
I fall asleep, and go into a weird dream. I dream that we (meaning Lindsey and Annabell), for some reason the twins weren't there, were at the safe haven. Lindsey and I were a couple, Annabell was like our kid. We played with her, and were a happy family. Until my dream changed. It was only Lindsey and Annabell. They were huddled in a tree, shivering, surrounded by zombies. Annabell was crying, and Lindsey looked like she was on the verge of tears. She was trying really hard to keep Annabell calm, but I don't think even she believed her own words. It broke my heart to see that.
I jolt up. I have to find them. Lindsey and Annabell are in trouble!

ActionI remember when we used to be able to go outside and play, without worry, without care, without thinking anything would happen. Those were the good days. Now you have to watch everything you do. Make sure that no one is following you, or get you.
