Two days of being out of the city, and James and Sasha are feeling the almost two weeks of walking without much rest. They have not stopped fight for the last hour. I am getting a headache, and am pretty sure any zombie within a thousand miles can hear us.
I am finally fed up, "Would you two shut up!! I am so sick of listening to you two! What are you even fighting about?" I don't wait for an answer, "Oh right, you don't know, because you are fighting about nothing! Now shut up, or I will feed you to the zombie dogs back in Richmond!"
That shut them up really fast. I have never yelled at them like this, but I am so fed up I don't even care. I could tell my face is hot with anger, and my pace quickens. I think they need a long nap, and so do I.
"Fine, nap time. We are taking a brake. Get up in that tree." I point at a tree, and they climb up it, then I pick a tree and climb, "we should be good up here for a while, so just... Get some sleep."
"But it's the middle of the day!" Sasha complains.
"Okay we can keep walking then! I don't really care!" She shuts up, "That's what I thought."
We get some sleep, and by the time I wake it's dark. Mine as well just sleep through the the night. I look over to see if James and Sasha are okay. What!! Wait were are they!! I look over and see NOTHING. Their gone! Oh no, I was yelling at them, so they must have left being mad at me. I have to find them!
I jump down from the tree, and pain shoots through my leg.
"Ahh!" I yell in pain.
I forgot, my leg is still broken. I can't search for the twins, not like this. I am going to have to just wait it out, and hope they know how to survive alone in the darkness of the night. I climb up the tree carefully, and have a restless sleep.

I walk along, yelling as loud as I dare for Sasha and James. I have yet to see them, and I started off at sunrise, and it is noon. To make things worse, I don't know why they left. I don't know if it was what I said, or if they were in trouble. James knows his way around Missouri, so he would have looked for a road. Oh no! Roads are one of the worst places you can go. I think there is a road a mile out. I slow make my way to where I think the road is.
I got to the road, and look around. Flashes of what happen to Cody and my dad come to my head. I close my eyes for a second. It's okay Erik, your fine. Man up! It's just a road. I step out of the bushes, and walk along the road side. There is nothing, no cars, no zombies, no James and Sasha. I guess it makes sense, because this is a bad road, or a country road. I think I am expecting cars though. All of the roads I have been on have been freeways so.
Something snaps in the woods, and shakes me from what I am thinking. I squint to see it. Whatever it is, must be to small for me to see. It was probably just a squirrel. I keep walking, but the snapping follows me.
I aim my gun, "Who's out there?" My voice is clear and without fear.
"Mmmmm."
"Crap!" A zombie comes out, then another, "I knew this road thing was a bad idea." I shot the two zombies, and walk as fast as a can. I can't run now because of my leg.
More zombies come out of the forest, and I can't do anything.
I hear someone yelling my name, "ERIK! ERIK!"
I look around, and see a truck coming this way, with James driving.
"What the freak! You can drive?"
The truck mows through the zombies, "No I can't, so get in and take the wheel!" I don't argue.
I jump in and take the wheel, and spin the truck around. James and Sasha scream. I would laugh, if it won't for the fact that we could die if I didn't step on it, this would be really funny. I mow back through the zombies. This is the funniest thing I have done since the apocalypse has happened. The truck somehow has a full tank of gas, so I flor it, and drive in the direction of the safe haven.
"How did you find this thing?" I ask James.
"My uncle, he lived around here. He always kept his keys in the car and had a full tank. Sasha knew where he lived from where we were, so I followed her, and we got the truck."
"Oh that's where we guys went."
"Well not exactly." Sasha hesitates, "Some zombies chased us. That's why we left the tree, then as we were running I thought that the land looks familiar. It clicked that the land was uncle Frank's. I told James, and we went."
"Oh okay." I nod, keeping my eyes on the road.
It feels good to be back in a truck. I had one before the disease got out, and loved it. It was my baby, but we had to leave it went it ran out of gas. That's also why we were on that road the day my dad got bit and turned.
It does not take long for the truck to run out of gas. Gosh gas hog... We have to walk from here. I think you are close to the safe haven though, so it should be okay. James, Sasha, and I hop out of the truck, and start walking again. The safe haven should be very close now. Weird thing is that there are no zombies. With that many people at the safe haven there should be zombies.
I speak to soon, because just then we hear a high pitch scream coming from its in the woods. Hmm weird it sounds like a little girl.
"ANNIE!!" I take off into the wood.
