Chapter 2

SKYLAR'S POV

The next day....

I wake up thinking about Jace. We usually always hang out on the weekends. I guess because we're both busy I'll be spending the day at a retirement home with my grandma.

I quickly get up and go into the bathroom. I shower and then brush my teeth. After I finish brushing out my hair I put on a casual top and some shorts that stop just above my knee. I finish off my outfit with a pair of high tops.

I grab my phone and purse and walk downstairs to find my mom in the kitchen.

"Good Morning Sky, How was hanging out with Jace yesterday?" My mom says while washing the dishes.

I sit at the counter and watch her scrub pots and pans."It was fun, until he had to leave."

My mom stops washing the dishes and looks at me. She dries off her hands and walks up to me. "I know how you feel sweetie. I feel the same way you feel with Jace with dad because he's always on business trips. It's hard being away from someone you love. Just cherish the moments you spend with him and think of the good times you've had with him when he's not around. "

She pulls me into a tight hug and I smile. "Thanks mom. You always know exactly what to say."

"I know, I'm pretty awesome. Are you ready to go see Grandma?"

We let go of eachother. "But I haven't had breakfast?"

My mom grabs her keys and walks towards the door. "C'mon we'll go to waffle house."

I walk up to her. "What about Jake and Jordan?"

She shrugs. "They can eat cereal. Their best friend isn't on a TV show and has been really busy lately. You deserve this."

I laugh. "Thanks Mom. I love you."

JACE'S POV

My eyes flicker open as soon as my ears hear the beeping of my alarm. I let out a loud yawn before sitting up and running my fingers through my hair.

My head throbs and pounds against my skull overwhelming me with a headache. I slowly get out of bed and walk into the bathroom. I look in the mirror at my reflection before soaking my face with a cold rag.

I take a quick shower and put on a pair of khakis, a hoodie and some navy blue vans. I run my fingers through my hair again giving it that 'messy laid back' kind of look.

I walk out of the bathroom and go downstairs.

"Jace! It's time to go to set!" I hear my mom yell from outside.

I walk out the front door only to see my mom in the car. I sigh while walking up to her car. I get in and strap myself in. I lean my elbow on the door and rest my head on my hand. I close my eyes trying to mask the extreme pain I'm feeling in my head.

"Jace are you okay?"

My eyes pop open and I sit up, looking at my mom driving. "I have a really bad headache."

"There's some aspirin in the glove compartment."

I nod while reaching for the glove compartment. I open it and grab the aspirin.

"Do we have any water bottles?" I ask opening the bottle of pills.

"Their should be a few under your seat."
