Accidental Love // JN Fanfic

Chapter 7

SKYLAR'S POV

"Why are you making me help you do your chores?" Jace asks before picking up another dish and washing it carefully.

"Because you said you wanted to understand me. There's no better way to understand someone other than helping them with their chores." I say holding back my laughter and drying off a glass plate.

Jace laughs. "You're really something Skylar."

I give him a suspicious look. "Is that a compliment or not?"

Jace smirks at me. "You tell me."

I laugh at his smart remark. All afternoon since I've been out of school Jace has been helping me with my chores, and to be completely honest it's been so fun hanging out with him again.

We finally finish washing the dishes and go in the living room and sit on the couch. I turn on the TV and 100 things to do before high school is on. I stare at Jace remembering how he cancelled on Isabela just hang with a girl he doesn't even know. He's never cancelled on anything for me before. He must really care.

Jace looks over at me and realizes that I'm staring at him.

"Is there something on my face?" He asks confused.

I laugh. "Yeah, skin."

Jace shoots me a glare before letting out a deep sigh. "Wanna go somewhere?" Jace asks.

I squint my eyes. "Where? It's getting late and-"

Jace cuts me off by grabbing my wrist and pulling me off of the couch. He drags me outside of the house and we begin walking down the sidewalk.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"On an adventure." Jace smirks.

"Whatever Indiana Jones." I laugh.

Jace laughs and we keep walking until we reach the Henry Danger set.

"Are we allowed to be here this late?" I ask.

Jace runs his fingers through his hair. "No. This is considered trespassing." He lets out a soft chuckle. "And I'm not allowed to go back to set until I fully recover from my injury. So you better pray that we don't get caught."

I laugh. "How long until you fully recover?"

"My doctor says about 2 - 3 months." Jace sighs.

I cringe and then bit my lip. "That's a long time. I didn't know your injury was that bad."

If only I had been there for him. If I was there supporting him this would've never happened. He would still remember me and everything would be normal again.

I snap out my thoughts and follow Jace and he leads me to this ladder that looks like it leads to the roof. I look at Jace and he looks at me before pointing to the ladder.

"Ladies first." Jace grins. I roll my eyes and climb up the ladder. After what feels like an hour of climbing is over, I finally reach the top of the roof and I awkwardly pull myself over the ledge.

I land on my face and when I look up I see Jace hovering over me laughing. He puts out his hand and I grab it. He helps me up and I sternly put my pointer finger in his face. "That didn't happen Norman." I say holding back my laughter through gritted teeth.

We walk to the edge of the roof and I gasp once I see the view of the beautiful sunset. The sky is filled with gorgeous lines and patches of orange and pink.

I punch Jace in the arm. "How come you've never taken me up here before?"

An astonished look comes over Jace's face. "I've never taken you up here before?"

I shake my head "no" and sit down. Jace sits down a few feet away from me and lays down on his back, admiring the sky.

"You were always really busy with acting and stuff so you never really had time for me." A strand of my hair falls in my face and I push it back behind my ear.

"Did I ever try to make time for you?" Jace asks.

"Yeah, I mean, you tried but you always failed. Everytime we planned something you'd have to cancel because something had come up."

Jace looks at me deeply. "And you never left me and found a new bestfriend? 

I softly smile and shake my head no. "I could never leave you. Even if I found a new bestfriend they'd never be able to top you. We've been through so much together and I could never throw that away. That's why I was so mad when I first found out you lost your memory. You are all that I've got and I guess it just hurts me knowing that you may never remember me."

Jace runs his fingers through his hair and stares at me. "Skylar I promise that I will get my memory back. I'll do whatever it takes. I wanna be your best friend."

My heart does this weird beating thing I've never felt before and my face gets hot.

I smile at him and yank his hair. "You already are my bestfriend stupid."
