SKYLAR'S POV

I dash down the stairs in my slightly ripped light wash skinny jeans and my blue golden state Sweatshirt marked with the number 30. Even though I don't I live in San Francisco, golden state is my favorite basketball team and I refuse to give promo to any other team.

Once I'm downstairs I run to the door and open it, revealing Jace and Isabela arm in arm laughing. I smile at them both instantly feeling like the third wheel.

"Hey Jace!" I say first.

Jace smiles. "Sup Skylar."

I look at Isabela. "Long time no see, how are you?" I say. To be polite, I pull her into a hug and when we let go she smiles warmly.

"I've been good. How about you?"

"You know, same old go to school and watch Netflix routine never gets old. I'm great." I smile.

"Are you ready to go?" Jace asks.

"Yeah, I just have to grab my phone and wallet." I say. I wave them into my house. Isabela walks in first and Jace walks in behind her stopping to admire my Sweatshirt.

"You like Golden State? I know you know that that's my favorite team." Jace grins at me.

"Of course I know, you went with me to get this Sweatshirt. You got a Jersey just like it, probably just buried in your messy closet now." I say rolling my eyes at the last part.

Jace nods his head and smirks at me. "Maybe you can help me find it. After all, I did help you with your chores."

I crack a smile as he brushes past me and sits next to Isabela on my couch. I run upstairs and grab my wallet and phone, shoving them into my Sweatshirt pocket.

When I get back downstairs I awkwardly walk past Isabela and Jace interrupting their conversation. Jace stands up fixing his gray hoodie.

"C'mon it's time to bowl!" Jace says. He looks at Isabela from me with his prize winning smile sprawled across his face.

I nod and Jace grabs Isabela's hand leading her out of my house as I follow closely behind. When we're all outside I lock the door and follow them into the uber.

Isabela gets in first, then Jace, then me. I look over to my right and pull the seatbelt over my chest, snapping it into the holster.

Jace passes the driver a 20 dollar bill and tells him to take us to the bowling alley. When the car started moving I pull out my phone remembering that my mom had told me text her when I left. She was on her way to pick up my dad from the airport and wanted to make sure I was safe because Jake and Jordan were at some party and couldn't.

After I finish texting her I put my phone back in my pocket and look over at Jace. He's deep in a conversation with Isabela. I notice a small white string in his hair and slowly pull it out clenching my teeth as I do to make sure he doesn't feel it.

"What are you doing?" Jace chuckles as he turns towards me. Isabela wears a confused smile.

"There was a huge spider in your hair that was probably filled with poison, and I just thought I'd save your life." I say causally.

Jace laughs and turns completely away from Isabela to face me. "Oh my gosh thank you for saving my life I shall forever appreciate you." Jace mocks.

I shove his arm softly and he laughs again. "What was really in my hair?"

I shrug and show him the little sring that was still in my hand. He grabs it and puts it in my hair, then he takes it back out.

I smile at him awkwardly. "What was the point of that?"
