SKYLAR'S POV

*Time skip to the weekend*

My eyes flash open when my ears hear the sound of my phone ringing. I sigh grabbing my phone off of my nightstand and answer it.

"GOOD MORNING SKYLAR!" Jace shouts into the phone.

I roll my eyes and crack a smile. I honestly wasn't expecting a call from him. He always did this before he lost his memory and it always made me happy. But the fact that I never told him he did this makes me even happier. He really is trying to be my best friend again.

"Good Morning Jace." I say in an annoyed tone to hide the fact that I'm totally blushing.

Jace sighs into the phone. "Have you ever wondered why we say good morning? Like it should be something a little more ya know, out there like 'Great Morning'"

I burst into laughter at his quirky remark. Old Jace that remembered me never said stuff like this.

"Who are you and what have you done with my real best friend?" I say sitting up and stretching.

"Are you calling me fake? I think I'm real considering the fact that I popped right out of my moms-"

I cut him off with my laughing. This time I catch a wiff of my morning breath and I wrinkle my nose. I get up and walk into my bathroom still holding the phone up to my ear.

"Okay whats got you so happy? You never act like this?" I say grabbing my toothbrush.

"Nothing. Uh talking to you makes me happy." Jace says awkwardly through the phone.

"Shut up. I know you're lyng. You barely know me. Tell me the truth. Is it a girl?" I say smirking. I put the toothpaste on my toothbrush while I wait for him to respond.

"How could you tell that I was lying? I'm an actor this shouldn't be happening." Jace laughs.

I shrug and put my toothbrush up to my mouth. "I know everything about you. We've been best friends for like 7 years."

Jace hums. "Oh yeah I forgot about that."

I scoff. "Figures. I'm about to brush my teeth so I'll call you back-"

"No!" Jace snaps. "I'll facetime you. I want to tell you why I'm so happy."

"Ew don't facetime me. I look like a potato."

"I don't care how you look. Looks are just looks. Personality is what counts. I'm gonna facetime you and you better answer!" Jace says quickly and then hangs up the phone.

I shrug and stick my toothbrush in my mouth. As soon as I get a good foam going in my mouth my phone rings. I accept the face time and point the camera at my self brushing my teeth.

Jace immediately laughs. "You're actually brushing your teeth?"

I nod my head smiling while still brushing my teeth. I don't know how he's looking at me right now. My hair is in a messy bun from me sleeping all night and my mouth in foamimg like I'm a dog with rabies.

"Okay so it is a girl that's got me happy." Jace says seriously.

I sqeal and a little bit of toothpaste lands on my phone screen. Old Jace never talked about girls with me. Old Jace was always stressed and busy. Maybe Jace getting hurt was a good thing. I motion my hands rapidly signaling him to continue.

"It's Isabela! We're going on a date tonight." Jace beams.

I blink my eyes and quickly spit out my toothpaste and rinse my mouth. Isabela is cool. I've met her a few times. Her and Jace have known eachother for awhile because they filmed a movie together a few years back.

I fake smile. "CONGRATS!" I say as happily as I possibly can. This may seem a little selfish but I don't want Jace and Isabela to get serious. If they do, Jace will completely abondon me and he'll never remember me agian. I still find it insane how he can remember basically everyone else but me.

Jace smiles. "Thank you."

The upside of not being remembered by Jace is that he can't tell when I'm lying. Old Jace never let me get away with a fake smile.

I walk out of my bathroom and sit on my bed. "Where are you taking her?" I ask.

"Bowling." Jace says simply.

"I hate bowling." I say.

Jace runs his fingers through his hair and shoots me a death glare. "What!? Why? What kind of person hates bowling?"

This is the downside of not being remembered by your best friend. "Just to refresh your memory, I hate bowling because I suck at it. " I laugh.

Jace squints his eyes. "This is bullshit!" He swears. I laugh at his use of words. "I never taught you how to bowl?" Jace asks.

I shake my head no while I continue to laugh. It's funny when he's mad.

Jace grips his hair and bites his lip. "That's it, you're coming with me and Isabela. I'm teaching you how to bowl."

I roll my eyes. "No Jace. You don't have to teach me. I don't want to be the third wheel on your little date with Isabela. It's not that big of a deal."

Jace smacks his lips. "It is a big deal. My best friend doesn't know how to bowl!"

"You barely know me. Why do you care so much?" I say.

"I don't know. I just care okay. You're really cool and I like hanging out with you so why don't you just come?" Jace says.

"No. Isabela is already probably mad at me because you canceled on her to hang out with me last time and if I just ruin your date she'll hate me." I say.

Jace gives me a pouty face "But we're supposed to be best friends? This could help me get my memory back. Please Skylar?"

I laugh and then I finally give in. "Okay fine. You're a really good actor Norman."

Jace grins. "Yes! You're gonna learn how to bowl tonight." I laugh as I watch him do a little dance through the screen. "Oh and thanks for the acting complement, you know I plan on being the next will ferell?"

I scoff. "Yeah alright."

"Okay so I gotta go my mom told me to help her clean the kitchen after I finished talking to you. I'll be at your house at like 8 so be ready to bowl."

"I hate bowling so much. I can't believe I'm going through with this." I sigh.

Jace laughs. "Don't be such a buzz kill. It'll be fun. "

"The first time I went bowling with you we were 10 and I broke 3 of your toes." I say.

"Wow, way to make me scared of you." Jace says.

I hear faint yell through my phone. Jace turns his head and faces his door. He turns back to me and smiles. "Sorry that was my mom. I gotta make like a tree and leaf now."

I laugh at his corny joke. "Bye Jace." I say. I end the face time and set my phone on my nightstand.

I smile. The new Jace is acually not as bad as I thought he was going to be.
