lacy-

"Drew, is this really the time to be criticizing her hair?" I practically shouted to the make-up crazed demigod. I'm not one to be speaking, since make-up is my life but honestly. We have a bigger problem: Nyssa was shot.

"Yes!" She shrieked, "Hair is important, even when there is an arrow through your stomach." Finally, once she realized Nyssa was dying, Drew got serious.

I attempted to pull out the arrow, a not so smart mistake.

"Stupid" Drew yelled, punching my mouth. "Ow!" I screeched. "I think you hit my brackets!" I brushed my tongue over the braces, and made sure they were fine, momentarily forgetting about Nyssa.

It was too late. Ambrosia can't bring a person back from the dead. No matter how much Nectar we poured on the arrow wound, there was no use. Nyssa had bled out.

That very night, we burned her shroud. It was made with thread sewed together like chain links. Just like Beckendorf. His were real metal.

Jake Mason had the 'privilege' to burn her shroud. I watched as silvery wisps of smoke flew into the air.

Who had shot her with the arrow? An angel-like figure.

I was invited to the counselor meeting to tell them all what happened. I had never been to one, and was so nervous I couldn't stop twirling my pig-tails with my fingers and fidgeting with my popped brackets.

"So one of those things killed Nyssa" Leo, the scrawny one, said angrily. Piper's boyfriend, Jason, put a hand on his shoulder, with a clear message: Chill.

"Yes, unfortunately so my boy." Chiron told him sadly, "Since we cannot expect any help from the gods-"

"As usual" Annabeth interrupted, not meaning to cause a scene. Everyone on the room snapped their heads to her. Except Leo Valdez, who was still grieving over the loss of his sister.

"For once, I agree with blondie. Those damned gods won't even get off their primordal asses just to hep us?" Drew snarled. She was greeted with an ice cube to the face.

"What the hell," she shrieked, "that ruined my make-up!" I glanced over to Annabeth, who had a hand over her mouth, eyes glinting mischievously.

One, I knew it was obviously her who had done that, but how? There was no sign of even water near her. Two, she never does that, unless she is with Percy.

Or a friend. And a very close friend.

That's when I noticed the glowing figure hiding in the corner.

All I saw were eyes. Other than that the, girl, I suppose, was completely transparent. They were an icy blue, and they seemed to pierce my soul.

As I stared back, the room got colder . Or maybe it was just me. That lady was giving me the freaky deaky's and I didn't like it one bit.

I glanced at Annabeth, who caught my eye. Then I stared back at the lady. A smile crept on her not-so-transparent now face.

Annabeth brought her finger to her lips. I stayed quiet.

"-don't even care anymore" Travis finished angrily, stomping out of the room. It was not very hard to notice that he was crying.

Chiron sighed, "I guess the lad finally cracked. The poor boy has been through enough." A majority of us agreed. Leo Valdez was still staring into space.

"Alright, this meeting is adjourned" Annabeth announced. She quickly stepped out, and when I looked back at the girl in the corner, she was gone. Like Annabeth Chase.

piper-

I will admit, Annabeth has been acting weird. I know something is up with her. Heck, something is up with everyone. But Annabeth is not even Annabeth anymore.

I fed up with it until one day, I needed to know. [She'd only been acting different for a day and a half so, until one hour]. With ninja stealth, yeah no, I followed her into the woods.

After backtracking, losing her a few times, and losing her again, I stumbled upon a sickening scene.

Annabeth was talking to a woman. She had long black hair with a crown made of ice crystals. Her icy blue eyes were unsettling. Pale skin, a bright blue gown. The closer I got to her the colder it got.

I was staring at my least favorite goddess, Queen of snow, Princess of the North, Khione. Immediately I felt betrayed. I had told Annabeth about all the times Khione had tried to kill me, yet she's here in the middle of the woods, talking to her like they were best friends.

I was so distracted, my hand fell, hitting the bush. Both heads snapped my way. Shit. Annabeth pushed away the bushes I'd been hiding behind.

"Hi.." I said weakly, trying for a smile. Annabeth raised an eyebrow. Khione gave me a cruel smile, and tapped Annabeth's shoulder.

"I admit, the daughter of Aphrodite is annoying-"

"I'm right here" I grumbled.

"As I was saying, even if she's annoying, she could be at good use, especially in our case." It was my turn to raise an eyebrow. Our case?

"So Annabeth" I began, "do you not remember the stories I told you. So, um, my point. Why the hell are you working with a goddess that wanted us dead!" I screamed.

Annabeth dragged me to the side, "Piper, she has a plan. I don't usually trust immortals, but I can't help but trust her. It's like Hecate. She's on our side now."

I rolled my eyes, "Annabeth, you're a freaking daughter of Athena! Can't you tell? She's manipulating you! Ever since Percy was poisoned, you've been acting completely different! Stupid really!"

I immediately regretted my words the second they came out. Annabeth turned, refusing to face me. Even Khione was shocked. Where did those words come from?

"Annabeth, I-I'm so sorry.." I tried. She put up a hand, and sighed shakily. "I-It's fine. I guess you're right. But Piper, it's my decision to trust her."

There was a venomous tinge to her voice, so I could tell she was mad. I didn't know what came over me.

"Okay, then what is this case you were talking about? Apparently I'm useful" I told them. Khione smirked,  "Well Piper dear, you have a lot to learn."

And that's when I learned about Annabeth's plan to save the demigods. And most likely the world.

Ahh, shorter than I wanted it. Whatever.
