Hi I'm a slacker 🙃

Mitch's POV

I saw Scott speed walking towards our table and I stood up to meet him at the entry way.

"Mitch, we gotta get to our room, now!" He said quickly.

I nodded and grabbed his hand, leading him up the stairs until there was a loud sound that stopped us dead in our tracks.

A gun shot.

We moved even more quickly up the stairs taking 2 at a time. Again, being chased out we just couldn't seem to ever get away.

"Mitch come on!" Scott huffed pulling me into our room. When we got in the room, Scott started pacing quickly. "Do they know where we are? How did they even find us?" He asked all in one breath and looked over at me. All I could do in response was look back at him. I was in shock. I didn't know what to do or how they found us or any of the things he was asking. Scott started packing stuff up and grabbed my hand once again pulling me to the door. He peeked out to make sure no one was there.

"Check this floor make sure they aren't here."

Scott slid back inside and closed the door quietly. We had roughly 5 minutes before he'd find us. Scott ran over to the window and looked down to see if jumping was an option.

"Mitch go grab the shower curtains from the bathroom!" Scott ordered. I ran over to the bathroom and ripped them down from the rod and ran back into the big room, handing them to Scott.

Scott started tying them together making a rope for them to climb down. He quickly connected it to the most stable thing he could find. He helped me down first and I slid down quickly. He followed suit and we were out. Once out Scott pulled the hood over his head and kept his head down and put his arm around me covering most of my face. We didn't look back.

We kept walking for what felt like forever, at least until we were really sure we weren't being followed. I just wanted to rest and eat. Scott was starting to get a little grumpy so I think he agreed.

"Well that was fun." I quietly spoke once we sat down in a little cafe.

"This is getting ridiculous. This has to stop. I can't keep going like this knowing you aren't safe." Scott commented laying his head on the table.

I gently laid my hand in his hair and took a deep breath. We both needed somewhere where we couldn't be found, but I wasn't going to let him go off on his own. That most definitely wasn't happening. I'd never be able to forgive myself if something happened to him and I could've prevented it. The waitress came over and looked at us. Her happy smile faltered for half a second.

"What can I get started for you fellas?" She asked cheerfully.

"Um I'll take a hot chocolate and he'll have a coffee." I answered for both of us.

"I'll be right back." She clicked her pen and smiled before walking away. She seemed really nice. Her name tag read 'Shia'.

I started thinking about what my mother has told me when I passed out in the police station. I was a "Golden Boy" and could enter heaven, hell and purgatory. I didn't even know why purgatory was, but I'd rather not find out...

"Scotty?" I whispered.

Nothing. I gently shook his shoulder. He was out cold. He slowly moved and leaned up. He looked so exhausted but we needed to talk about what we were going to do next.

"Hey there sleepy head." I smiled at him hoping to get a reaction.

But instead his eyes only got wide as I could see him staring just past me. I started to turn around but he grabbed my hand signaling me not to. Scott turned his attention back to me.

"Those guys are the same ones that were at the hotel." He stated. "But I don't think they've noticed us yet because my head has been down this entire time."

Scott released my hand and lowered his head a bit so if they looked over they wouldn't see him. This was so frustrating I just wanted food. Just then the waitress brought over our drinks.

"A hot chocolate for you and a coffee for you." She said placing our drinks in front of us.

"Anyway we can get these to-go?" Scott asked hurriedly.

"Um yes we do have to go cups. Are you not ordering any food?" She asked her smile again faltering.

"No thank you. Please bring our check also." Scott said keeping his eyes trained forwards.

"Okay." She said and turning to obey his wishes. In a few moments she was back with what was asked. "There you go. Have a nice day you guys." She smiled and walked away.

Scott left $10 for our $5 worth of drinks and got up while a group of people we walking by, facing away from the men and quickly dragged me out. Once we were it Scott looked back just to make sure they didn't notice.

Back to walking we went. Still running. Always running.
