"I told you I'm fine," Crystal repeats again. She stands before the bodyguards holding firm before the elevator door. They have been dodging her questions and denying every request she makes. "Where is your boss?"
"Many apologies, Avatar. Mr. Kirito-Nagoya insists you stay here," one of them reply without hesitation.
"It has to be for a good reason Crystal," Jake insists, but Crystal isn't buying it.
"Something doesn't feel right," Jacob mutters, echoing Crystal's thoughts as she passes.
Crystal starts pacing in the living room. The flat screen is on and playing the evening's newscast. So far no other reports or strange sightings have been reported, which is good for secrecy yet bad for Crystal since the news is the only way they are getting info about what's going on.
"Crystal?" Mahoney asks. He can tell there's something on her mind.
The gears are turning in her head, they all can see that. She looks up at Mahoney the moment he says her name. "Everyone go get some rest, we have a big day ahead of ourselves tomorrow."
Everyone then looks at her with curious looks on their faces; the confidence in her expression is enough to tell them all they need to know: Crystal has a plan.
"Crystal..."
The teen glances over to Talula's mother, her fists gripping her new blue shirt tight. "Yes ma'am?"
She holds her own hands, doing her best not to look directly in Crystal's eyes. "Can we talk?"
Someone's hand takes Crystal's. She doesn't look to see who it is, but squeezes it tight. "I'm...I'm sorry ma'am, I need to get some rest."
Crystal pulls her hand from theirs and dashes from the room.
Minutes later, Jake finds her curled up on the bed in her guest room. "You okay?"
"No," she confesses. "I don't want to talk to her. I can't even look at Talula right anymore. I just keep looking for similarities, something to prove that we're actually...twins."
"Hey, it's-"
Crystal interjects. "Hey Jake? Can I just have some time alone, please?"
Her brother nods and says some words of comfort before leaving the room.
For awhile Crystal lays there, thinking and analyzing the situation.
Time passes by and after what feels like an eternity her eyelids are opening and the time is way too early in the morning. She opens the door and sneaks over to the room across the hall where all of her friends are slowly waking up because of her entrance.
She then closes the door softly behind her. Then she tries to speak just loud enough for them to hear. "Guys wake up. We have an escape to plan..."
