Crystal slams the car door shut. "You have some nerve involving my family in this whole affair! They're innocent! Now you better leave them alone or you'll have to mess with me. And you DON'T see me angry!"
Crystal feels the air swirl around her as her anger reaches its tipping point. It isn't often she loses her cool, but these people are pushing. First her friends and now her family?!
The line before her gets into defensive positions. Her friends rush up around her, mirroring their positions. The sound of flowing water fills the air beside Crystal, Page is ready to defend and fight. Knowing her best friend is beside her fills Crystal with more confidence.
"Four against ten and you're still gonna lose," Mahoney taunts with a sneer.
The lean man in the center causes Crystal to become uneasy. He watches the four of them with no emotion and offers no way of seeing the full mask that his sun glasses conceal. Swiftly, he raises his left hand and his group immediately straightens.
He speaks slowl and steadily. It gives Crystal the creeps. "We have not come to bring harm to your family Avatar. We have simlply come for you."
Crystal says nothing, but Page immediately steps in front of her. The water quickens its flow around her like an excited electron around an atom. "You scum aren't taking her anywhere!"
Crystal places a hand on Page's shoulder and glares over at him. "What do you want with me?!"
The man simply shrugs and answers as if the answer is obviously. "We have come to take you with us. Your reign of terror has come to an end Avatar."
"Reign of terror?!" Crystal repeats with a sharpness in her tone. "The Avatar is not a symbol for terror. I symbolize peace and balance; get your facts straight."
"Tell that to the Chinese," he replies darkly.
"They attacked the Camp, we didn't attack them!" Demetri spat at them.
"And all in the name of the Avatar!" The man shouts. "It is because of you Avatar that a war almost broke out. That the Underground was attacked prior to the attack on the camp! We had no warning, we were horribly unprepared for their trained forces and it was all because of you!"
Crystal is taken aback. The camp never told her about another attack. Then again, they never told her about the Bending Academy in the first place. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't even know I was the Avatar before the Chinese attacked the Camp. The Avatar couldn't have helped you before."
"But did your precious camp help us when we sent word of the attack?!" One of the people in line shout out.
"Enough talking!" Another cries out. He punches forward, sending a blast of air at them. Demetri sent one as well, causing them to collide and burst air in all directions.
The ground began to shake and a line of jagged rocks jutted up from the ground. Crstal stomped on the ground, stopping the assault with a counter rock. Fire shot through the air and water began flying.
"Stop! Do not engage!" The man shouted, but his voice got lost within the chaos.
Crystal runs infront of Jake to protect him. She can't let him get hurt because of her. She bends the ice shards that fly at them back into water and freezes an earth bender's feet to the ground. She punches forward blasting a water bender onto their back.
"Converge on the Avatar!" One of them cries.
"Jake! You have to get out of here!" Crystal shouts over the chaos. She risks a look back at her older brother, to find he is absolutely petrified with fear. Her heart drops. He needs to get out. These people are going to get him hurt or worse!
A familiar wave of energy washed over her, filling ever aspect of her with it. A blue tint covers her vision and everything turns into a blur.
Next thing Crystal knows, her vision clears and she feels exhausted. The worst part? She can't remember what just happened. She looks around and gasps in complete horror. Littered around her are the unmoving forms of everyone: the attackers...her friends...her brother.
Crystal begins to tremble with fear. What has she done?!
Suddenly, a cloth is pressed over face as a pungent odor fills her senses. Is what she thinks it is? She tries to fight, but her time in the Avatar state has left her exhausted. A fog ensnares her mind and suddenly she's falling....slipping...
"We have the Avatar, let's pick up the others and go. Leave her friends, they aren't important."
Crystal strains to stay awake...she knows that voice...Its...
