"I love when a plan comes together, don't you? Just think, soon the whole world is gonna change."
Crystal tries to tune Nathan out as she does her best to remember the footsteps and turns they're taking.
They stop and the god awful sound of rusted metal rubbing against itself forces Crystal to cringe. Rough hands tighten their hold on her arms and shove her forward.
She stumbles in, only to be grabbed once more and shoved down onto a cold hard surface.
The sack over her face disappears only to have a blinding shine take its place. She squints up at the light, quickly blinking to rid the spots in her vision.
Once everything clears Nathan takes form sitting across from her. He looks as smug as ever with several large men standing in every corner of the small room.
Crystal blinks under the light blaring down from above. With the rest of the room so dark, it seems extra bright to her readjusting eyes.
"What's going on? Why did you bring me here?" She asks, secretly afraid to know the answer.
"Many things," Nathan answers simply.
"Like?" Crystal prompts.
"I'll let you in on a little secret." Nathan leans forward. "Let's just say when this is all said and done, my boss plans on sending you to your next life."
Nathan stands up, his laugh filling the silence coming from a stunned Crystal.
She barely hears him and his men leave while another enters the room much quieter than the others. Wide eyes stare blankly down at white knuckles resting rigid on her legs.
The next life. Changing the world.
They want to change the world and killing her is one of the steps to getting there...
"Now now little one, why so pale?" A soft voice cooed.
Crystal blinks, trudging out of her shock and looking towards the voice. Like a ghost her shinning eyes dig into her, the fires of her rage within searing into Crystal's very soul and yet sending a chill down her spine.
Of course she is involved. Of course she is.
"J-Jane please-"
"Jane please!" She mocks. "Your begging is pathetic. I'm going to enjoy watching you burn Avatar and when you do, I'm going to make sure I'm the first to dance on your ashes."
Crystal shrinks back from the sharp words, the cuffs digging into her skin as she tugs against them.
"Time to move little Avatar, the show is going to start soon and we have to get you ready." Jane pulls the limp Crystal from the seat and drags her from the room.
The floors are stone and the walls crumbling brick. Dim lights cast shadows all around them as Jane drags Crystal to a new location.
"Don't look so petrified Avatar," Jane teases. "After all, this might be your greatest show stopper yet and this time I'm going to make sure it succeeds and finally getting rid of you."
Crystal gulps. That's exactly what she's afraid of.
