I'm going to be completely honest. This was going to be a pirate AU at first, but it just wasn't working. Then I deleted my other monster falls book because I thought it was too generic. After I deleted my pirate book, I thought back to monster falls and an idea sprung into my weird mind. So, here goes my last Gravity Falls book...

The nearly empty bus pulled into the country dirt road, ready to drop off it's last passenger. Pinetrees zoomed past, blurring together into one green glob. Particles of dust erupted from its tracks, leaving a thick cloud behind.
Sitting in one of the specially made seats was Mabel Pines, the last person to drop off. She watched her surrounding pass with excitement and discomfort. Mabel rarely ever left her home, and now she was going almost all the way across the country to live with someone she never met before? The idea still boggled her mind, if arising a sense of adventure with it.
Soon enough, she arrived at her destination; The Mystery Shack. As the bus came to a complete stop, Mabel took in the sight of her new temporary home. It was nothing like what she was used to. Back at her home in the Atlantic Ocean, she lived in a massive underwater mansion with her parents. Mabel had always been an only child, but besides the large house that always empty and no one else to play with, it wasn't all that bad.
The only people Mabel talked to were her parents, but that was only when she was asking something or her mother scedueled a 'family game night.' She has never had any long term friends, and only has basic knowledge of how to act around others. Although these setbacks, she seemed to have a natural talent at socializing with the community. She never stuttered, made rude comments, or kept the conversation based around herself. Everyone around her seemed to be drawn to her energetic personality. Except for mermen, that is, which frustrated Mabel.
Mabel sloshed around in her tank of water, looking fearfully at the busted, old shack. It looked as though it could collapse at any moment. Boards were loose, mold was growing on the wood, and the 's' on the sign that said Mystery Shack above the house fell off, now saying 'Mystery Hack.'
Grabbing her things, she transported herself into the mobile tank her parents made for her. It was quite the effort, but she managed without to much of a problem. Stuffing her waterproof bags into the hamster ball like contraption, she started to move toward the front of the bus. Once at the front, the bus driver rolled down a ramp for Mabel to roll down. And she did, but not without a sense of discomfort.
Never in her life would she spend this much time out of water again. The surroundings were surreal to Mabel, and she felt as though part of her heart was missing. She felt like a outcast in this new world.
Once completely off the ramp, the driver quickly pulled up the ramp and sped off without another word, leaving Mabel in a cloud of dust. When the dust cleared, she was approached by what she presumed to be her great uncle.
He was around seven feet tall and his footsteps almost rattled the ground. His eyes were pure glowing yellow, making them pop out from the rest of his rocky exterior he was covered with. Large stone wings draped behind him, dragging on the ground. On his hands and feet were sharp claws that looked extremely dangerous. Mabel had trouble believing this is who her parents entrusted with her safety.
"Your my great niece, right?" he asked once he was close enough, his scruff voice matching his exterior.
"Yeah, if your Stanford Pines, that is." Mabel replied. Stan gave her a small laugh, and gestured for her to follow as he walked toward the house, still talking.
"You bet your buckets I am! And this is where you will be staying for the next few months. Or until you're parents finish serving in the army."
Mabel saddened at the mention of that. Her parents had been drafted to be a part of the war with the manatees, and with no one close by to supervise Mabel, they turned to Stanford. There was no defenate date for when the war was going to end, but there were signs. The mermaids were getting stronger armies to fight the aquatic mammals, and the manatees seemed to be losing their advantages.
Stan saw her face sadden, and tried to change the subject as soon as possible.
"You have your mothers scales. I must say, that's a vibrant pink." he said, pointing to Mabel's tail as they entered the rickety old house.
Mabel nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I did." she said simply.
"I also like your tank top. Did your mother make it? I know that she is very skilled in sewing."
"Actually, I made it. I guess I got her sewing skills too." Mabel's mood was steadily improving, a small smile prying at her lips.
"Your really good too, kid. But you have your fathers chocolate brown eyes though, same with his hair."
"Yep, I'm the perfect mix between my parents." Mabel said proudly.
They entered the living space, and Mabel took a look around. On the bottom half of the walls was a layer of wood, then on the top was plaid blue wallpaper, tearing in many places. On the wall was a almost prehistoric TV, and across from that was a worn out yellow armchair. Next to the armchair was the skeletal head of a tyrannosaurus rex with cans ontop of it. Hanging on the wall was a cookoo clock in the shape of an owl, ticking at a mezmerizing pace.
"This is the living room, you can find me here on most days. Now let's see the kitchen."
Mabel then got a full tour of the house, ending with the attic; her bedroom.
"This is your room. Sorry it's the attic, but we don't have anymore spare rooms in this house. Think it will do? I know that this is a really small house compared to what you had, so I just want to make sure your comfortable."
Mabel looked around the dusty, mold littered attic, and mentally made a disgusted face. But not wanting to sound like a brat, she held in her disgust.
"It'll do. I guess I should unpack."
"Yeah, you do that. I'll be downstairs if you need anything." Stan said as he exited the room with loud stomps of his feet.
Mabel threw her bags out the top of the hammer ball, landing them on the wall in the corner. In that particular corner there was a small kiddie pool with fresh water already filled up.
Grateful to get out of the small bubble, Mabel shot out of the ball and into the pool. The water was just the right temperature, and the end of her shinny pink fin stuck out the end of the small pool.
She sat like that for the rest of the day, which was only about three hours. Mabel did manage to unpack everything she brought. But most of what she brought was previously made tank tops and materials to make more. There was, of coarse, hygiene products, but that was about all she brought with her.
Soon night fell, and Stan came in to wish her goodnight. She said it back, and her eyelids became heavier.
It was only her first day here, but she could tell that these few months were going to be long and boring. The only things that may be exiting is going out into he forest, but that's a big maybe for Mabel.
One goal that Mabel set for herself though was to make some friends. Mabels never had a true friend that she's had for a long time, and she wants to know what it feels like to always have someone there for you.
With that last thought, Mabel drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

Authors note: this story will obviously be different than other monster falls books. But what I want to know is if I should go through Mabel's whole summer, cause it's going to be relatively the same as the shows events, just without dipper or at least without him for now. Or do you want me to skip to 'Not What He Seems' instead. If you read, make sure to let me know! ~BluePinetree
