Pain. That was all he knew at the moment. His body ached, sharp pains erupted from his chest with every breath he took, and he failed to conceive any thoughts. Except for the fact he was going to die. That thought was the only one that he was able to recognize.
And, going off of his animalistic instincts, he knew he was vulnerable where he was. Despite not being able to open his eyes, he knew that he was in a small clearing in a woods. And it was dangerous, especially for an injured animal. Like him.
So, gathering all his wits, and the basic will to survive, he opened his eyes and attempted to get to his feet. That was a mistake.
As soon as he put any weight on his front right foot, his skin lit on fire, spreading all the way up to his shoulder. Wincing, he collapsed back onto the ground, taking many excruciating gulps of air.
Once he finally decided to try again, he got up as fast as he could, thinking it would be better. But he almost collapsed again as soon as he put his weight on his four legs. His knees buckled, and his vision was blurry, not to mention fading from monochrome to color.
But running on instinct, he looked around for a place to hide. He scanned the area he was in, and found that he was near a cliff, and the smell of sulfur promently filled the air. But that was all he managed to observe before his eyes landed on a small crevice in the rock.
Eyelids half closed and wobbling on his feet, he tried to walk to the crevice. Each step was torture, making his breath hitch, which in turn made his chest flare from his almost certainly broken ribs.
Miraculously, he stumbled to the small crack and climbed inside. It was barely big enough for him to stand in, but it was at least some sort of protection from the danger.
But, as soon as he plopped down onto the hard, rocky surface, he realized he didn't know what danger he was running from.
He knew that there was danger, but what? Why was he running from it? Did it cause his injuries? Why did it want to hurt him if that was the case?
As these questions raced through his head, he came upon a startling realization. He didn't know who he was.
Who was he? What was his name? Did he have family, or not? Why would something want to hurt him? Did he do something wrong, and this was his punishment?
All of these questions whirred around his mind. After a while, he deduced he had a serious case of amnesia. But what had caused it? He himself had no idea. But if he didn't find out soon, he could die.
Finally deciding he needed to address his injuries, he lifted his head to look over his body to see external damage. What he saw horrified him.
His right leg was bent at a very unnatural angle, and so was his left wing, which was bent forward. Ribs were slightly poking into his side, and he had deep gashes all over his body. Bruises also seemed to be everywhere except for his tail, which was the body part he could spare being injured.
Just as he was about to try to nurse his wounds, he heard an oddly familiar, terrifying cackle that echoed through the air. It was that horrifying laugh that made everything his mind had been missing click into place.
Mabel. Stan. Ford. Bill's manipulation. His parents dying. The Griffin attack. Mabel's parents being executed. Bill capturing his new family. And most importantly, him crashing to the ground below the cliff.
Dipper thought that all of the memories that were coming back to him was causing the massive migraine he was getting, but he scrunched his eyes closed in pain. If he would have left them open, he would have saw himself glowing a dark shade of blue, which is what really caused the sudden pain. Slowly, Dippers injuries started to heal without him noticing. His bruises and gashes were slowly disappearing, and all of his previously broken bones were now mending themselves.
Dipper finally noticed this supernatural occurance when he found t getting easier to breath. He opened his eyes, and almost had a heart attack to see himself glowing. His choco brown eyes widened in fascination and also slight horror. He didn't have any idea what was happening. All he knew was that this glow was healing him. Somehow.
With his knowledge, he didn't have any magical abilities. And it was a bit suspicious. If he had this power to heal himself, why didn't it act up after the rock slide? It seemed confusing and very suspicious.
But all that suspicion melted away as he heard more maniacal laughter. But this time, it didn't stop. Dipper now grew worried and, with his now healed self, climbed out of the small space. To his horror, he saw the sky turn into multiple shades of orange, yellow, and red. And in the center of the sky, a giant X shaped tear was steadily growing. From what he could see, inside the tear was a multitude of random swirling colors.
The wind picked up, and cold air swirled around him as he saw creatures coming out of the tear. Some didn't look all that frightening, such as a purple tiger looking monster with four red eyes. Others were absolutely terrifying. The one that scared Dipper beyond belief was a white dog like creature. It didn't seem to have any skin, and a huge smile along with demented pure black eyes adorned it's face. It also seemed to be dripping blood from its mouth, but it was too far away for Dipper to certainly tell.
What Dipper could definetly tell though was this wasn't a good sign. But he couldn't exactly think of what to do. He wanted to help his family at the top of the cliff, but that would almost spell certain death for him. And if he was dead, Dipper would be useless.
Different scenarios ran through his head, and all but one ended with him dead. And that solution was running away.
With one sad look back at his family, Dipper ran into the woods, feeling extremely guilty, but was also filled with determination.

What is this, Undertale now? Well, I was listening to the soundtrack...Anyway, as for the little Q and A (if you can even call it that) that Bill held, I can confirm that any author related questions were true. And I am sorry if Bill was a bit of a jerk, but I couldn't do anything about that. See Ya around Saplings! ~BluePinetree
