Cocoa and Bandit continue on with their parents, Shadow and Lightning. They grieve for their lost pup/sister, Ginger, who was preyed upon by a coyote. After three days they get over there lost and continue on. There journey continues on for two more weeks.

Shadow:

I sniffed the warm air, it was dry, meaning no rain. Lightning came running back with a vole. He set the vole down for me and I gladly ate it. Lightning regurgitated some food for the pups and turned to find his own prey to eat. The pups finished quickly and started playing, Bandit was still stronger thanb Cocoa I thought. But Cocoa has improved, she no longer cowers down. I smiled, Lightning came back and we started walking again. We walked in the forest, I looked down at the grass. Little insects squirmed, from high up birds tweeted. Water, I thought. I sniffed the air, and began looking for water. I spotted a small creek, I race over. I lapped up as much water as I could. My dry throat welcome the relief. The pups slashed in the water and started slashing each other untill their fur was soaked. It made me smile, only it still reminded me of poor Ginger. I shook my head clearing my thoughts away. I yipped and the pups waded out of the water. We began to walk again, feeling relieved by the cool water. Even Lightning seemed more joyous from the cool water.

Cocoa:

Every so often my thoughts lingered to Ginger being beaten up by that coyote, but each time the memory was more faded but was still there. Oh why Ginger I thought sadly. I looked up to the sky. Those dots were in the sky again, I smiled. Twinkles was what Shadow called them. I tilted my head curiously, that twinkle. It stands out and is always there, I liked that one star. It was always there and would never change. I looked back down. Shadow sniffed the air and headed in a different direction. The air was suddenly scented heavily with more wolves. I sniffed the air, all of our noised twitched. Shadow sat down and lifted her head up to the sky. She opened her muzzle and let out a loud howl. "I'm here!" she howled out. Howls of different melodies and harmonies rose up into the sky. I frowned wondering, my curiousity rose. Shadow raced forward, followed by Lightning. Bandit and I struggled to keep up, but we managed. Shadow slowed to a walk, three wolves leapt out of bushes in front of us.

Shadow:

My eyes widened in excitment. Mishka! Crow! Yazi! Creek and Angel were also here, with them there own pups and mates. I couldn't help but to yip and bounce like a pup in my joy. We all troted back to the old resting area that I once would sleep in as a younger wolf. I closed my eyes and opened them, no it was not a dream I thought. I looked over to see the pups playing. My eyes widened in suprise, Cocoa had just pinned down Bandit who squirmed and whinned before giving up. I smiled, perfect I thought.

The pups would survive I thought, Cocoa would have confidence and would straighten out Banits ego. The'd earn a place in the pack and survive winter with the pack. I was back with family, the pack was even larger now with more family. I was overwhelmed with joy.

Lighting:

I felt pride, the pups made it back to the old territory. Then I looked down with sadness, almost, all of them, Ginger would of loved it here. But I'm to overjoyed about the two pups here now to worry. I trotted up to Cocoa and licked her muzzle. Together we watched Angel's, Creek's, and our own pups play in the grass.

Cocoa:

I finally dominated Bandit I thought proudly, Ginger would be proud I thought with even more pride. I continued to play with the other pups who I learned their names. Creeks pups had a mix of white and black and one pup had brown mixed in. They were named; BlackJack, Storm two females named Fudge, Snickers, and Brownie.

Bandit:

I thought about Ginger, and the coyote. I frowned coyotes are dangerous, mabey I should stick to Cocoa, she seems smart. All thought she spends to much time looking at twinkles. I started to play with Angels pups. They were very fun to play with. They had white and grey fur with a mix of red. There names were; Sky, Rain, and her two sons Ember and Flame. Flame had a small scar from supposently a fire incident in the forest.

With the pack the pups will survive and grow up and will have pups of their own. The pups will form packs and hopefull survive in the wild. The end has come to this story of Shadow and Lightning, it end happily back were Shadow once lived before she took Lightning as a mate.
