(Author's Note: I apologize! A lot has been going on, plus school started yesterday. The first day of high school left me tired and confused, but today I found enough energy to leave you guys a small chapter. I'll elaborate more later, thanks for reading!)
He honestly wasn't sure what happened after that. Consciousness would be bestowed upon him occasionally, only to bring feelings of either immense pain or heat. Soon after, he would pass out. This went on for a while, to the point where it got repetitive and boring. Usually he would be staring at a ceiling (almost always white), and wouldn't be able to move. To be frank, it sucked.
And finally, when he woke up (for more than three minutes), every bone on his body ached and was begging for mercy. He tried to move his arm, but failed. He tried to move his other one... A piece of metal flew up in the air, just in his line of sight. Straining himself to turn his head, he could of screamed. Damn.
Several thin bars of metal intertwined, forming an arm-like structure. Looking through the bars, you could see tons of wires and gears. Only some of the gears spun, and the wires would occasionally spark. Every one or two inches, small lights were attached to one of the side metal bars. A few of them shone dully, all different colors.
At the end, there were even thinner bars, forming makeshift fingers.
Immortal wondered how he even controlled them. He put all his focus on his middle finger, he only had one thought: UP. The metallic middle finger rose up mechanically, and Aleks laughed immaturely- only to immediately regret it. His face muscles groaned in protest, so he immediately resumed his frown. He willed his finger to go down.
His eyes trailed upwards, and his stomach lurched. He stared at his shoulder in disbelief. The metal bars pushed themselves under the skin, so you could see slight bulges under. There was heavy bruising surrounding it, and several stitches around each bar. The thing was, it didn't feel heavy, or as if it was shifting. In fact, it was nearly weightless. But at the same time, he saw several wires entering the skin. It wasn't a question of whether or not it was uncomfortable. The sight was gruesome enough to distract from that.
"Jesus Christ, you're a heavy sleeper." A voice grumbled. Aleks willed himself to look towards the sound, almost crying at the pain. His vision was slightly blurry, but he could slightly make out a figure. He saw long blond hair pulled into a frizzy ponytail, and some sort of jacket pulled over the figure. The person was sitting in a chair across from him. Aleks's vision focused, and he could tell that it was a male speaking to him. The guy had hardened features, with a bored look on his face.
"What're you looking at, fag?" He sneered with a British accent. His voice didn't exactly convey hatred, but more like... Annoyance?
"Anyway, since you're too much of a shit to talk, I'll introduce myself. Call me either Jamie or Utorak, whichever one your tiny mind can process. Seriously, could you get anymore stupid? You've had so many chances to run, but you never took them! I heard about your hybrid stage- you still have most of the abilities, dumbass! You can outrun all of us non-hybrid chaps, I don't understand how you think you're so powerless! And fucking hell, look at your teeth! You can clean cut a motherfucker with those!" He took a breath, but was clearly ranting. "If it were up to me, I would let you into the wild and see how long YOUR sorry ass could survive, seriously. I'm done, I can't even look at you. This is bullshit." And with that, he angrily pushed himself out of his chair, and walked out of Immortal's sight. Immortal heard a door open and slam close.
He wasn't sure if he should of laughed or cried, but he didn't have time to decide. He quickly fell back into the darkness.
Of course, he woke up to someone staring at him. He groaned internally, and willed his weird metal arm to punch this person in the stomach. The person yelped and fell back, screaming curses. "Okay! Okay! I get it, you're mad..." He wheezed. Aleks felt a bit groggy, but he didn't feel as horrible as last time. His eyes focused, and he saw Steven bent over, holding his stomach. Aleks wanted to get up and beat his ass (not sexually), but the bottom half of his body was strapped to the bed. He was in some sort of guest room, and he was dressed in a white hospital gown. Steven finally gained his breath back.
