Light flew into my senses, arousing me from my shut-down. Or, at least, I thought it was a shut down. It had felt like an eternity of darkness, no feeling, no thought. I popped my other eye open, testing my surroundings. The blurry gray walls to my front seemed to almost close in on me, the dots in my eyes adding to the illusion.
"Hello?" I mumbled queasily, urging myself to stand. Before I could take my first step, my left foot jolted out of it's socket and sent me back to meet my maker. I spat in discomfort, oil leak into it of my mouth and dribbling across my cheek to the floor. Thank god I didn't have teeth.
"Nami? Anyone?" I asked into my receiver, only to be clicked back by a blank response. Nami should've called by now.
I fidgeted with my foot, twisting and reconnecting as many wires as I could at the moment. They were all so small and fragile, I gave up after about two minutes of breaking them more than fixing. I cried out in frustration, throwing my head back. Gritting my teeth, I stared argrily at the wall behind me. Where was I? The last thing I remembered was getting my ass kicked by some seventeen year-old back at the jail. As if to answer my question, an ear-splitting screeching emitted from the silver wall to my left. I thrusted myself backwards until I was practically merged with the wall to my right, my leg dangling uselessly in front of me. Then, I watched in traumatic silence as the wall moved. It creaked and groaned, heaving itself upwards like someone lifting a cinderblock with upmost effort. Fog-like veins of gas slowly let itself in, dancing and skipping alongside me. I squinted as hard as I could, desperate to have a look on the outside, but to no avail. The gas was obviously there for a reason, and I was dumb not to guess that first. Sitting back on my one working heel, I began to admire the fog, how it acted so calm and peaceful during my ultimate terror. How it could simply glide in like it's master taught it to, not afraid of me not what it may encounter. Who was I kidding? It was frickin gas.
A loud clank threw me upright. The left door emitted eerie scratching sounds, like an animal marking it's territory was right outside. A low, sorrowful moan slid softly through the opening, she sound almost felt familiar. Something clicked in my mainframe at that moment, and realization hit. Paralyzed in fear, I stood waiting for the inevitable. I knew this creature.
When the blaster finally showed itself, the first thing I saw was it's eyes. The big, steady searchlights seemed to slink through the gas almost effortlessly, taunting me in their blinding beauty. As the blaster's body finished through the opening, I didn't bother to look at it. Too mesmerized by it's void-like eyes, I drifted ever so slightly closer. By the size of it's head, it was about a juvenile, but honestly, it was huge for that standard. Really, it was about the size of a horse, with it's long tail setting it apart. That much I noticed. It growled dryly, the hinges on it's jaw unlatching, preparing to blast. Hastily, I opened my blaster to fire, squinting for the blast. Then, the Gaster blaster did something odd- it stopped. Immediately, it's jaw snapped back in place, and the blaster seemed to jog towards me happily. I aimed carefully, waiting for it to come closer, for it would be funner to kill it that way. The blaster stopped once more, cocking it's head and whimpering.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I whispered to myself numbly, my blaster still tense and ready to fire. In response, the blaster charged forward at me, eyes alight with either passion or fury. Before I could fire my blaster, it had planted it's hoof thoroughly on my arm. Crying out in pain, I attempted to kick it, but to no avail. The more I struggled, the more pain I felt. The blaster stared down at me curiously, an odd look on it's face. Only now did I notice that it's left horn was broken off almost entirely, almost like it had been ripped off in battle. Surely, this friendly one couldn't fight. As my eyes suspiciously explored the blasters body for the first time, another oddity revealed itself. The blaster had countless rashes, blisters, and burn scars gouging it's back, the thin lining of skin coating it's bones was swollen and torn. I stared out into the almost mocking blue eyes, afraid to face the unknown.
"Jacin?" I stammered, wincing in anticipation. The creature paused, as if comprehending the idea. He then leaned in and nudged me, throwing me onto his back.
"It really is you! Boy, am I glad to see you!" I giggled childishly as he romped playfully around the room, bouncing and twisting his spine as if he were to throw me off.
"How did you get so big?" I asked playfully, gripping on to his horns. Nami could translate for me if I needed it, but I didn't think I needed to hear what he was saying to know how he felt at the moment. Nami...she wasn't here, though. She hadn't replied to my calls, and the last I had seen of her was when I was about to get arrested, she was in the house. Jacin was, too.
"Jacin, do you know where Nami is? You were with her when I left." I attempted to change the mood by patting my his head, but the big softie only played a better happy puppy. I noticed a small dent in his ruby red collar, small scratch marks shaping the extirpate of a small square-like object.
"Of course! You came here with something, didn't you? What is it boy?" I cooed, ruffling with his horn. He whined glumly, lying down on the ground.
"Jacin?" I attempted to coo him, his happy grin no longer existent on his placid face. He lied down in the exact center of the room, facing the door in which he came, bowing his head so his hooves almost covered his eyes. I stepped off of him and leaned over to examine his face. His brow curled in a rather unsettling way, his jaw contorted fiercely in a mix of agony and anger. Jacin's eyes blazed blue, staring straight foreword at the invisible enemy. I laid down near him, clasping his horn in my hands.
"Jacin?" I felt something crawling up my back, something evil and sinful. My eyes snapped into focus, an imaginary switch flicking on in my mind. Jacin was being controlled.
"Peter Pan couldn't stay young and independent forever, you know." An oddly familiar voice drawled, Jacin's tail flipped underneath his belly, his expression paralyzed in fear.
"Hello?" I chirped uneasily, crawling back to Jacin. As I spoke, the door creaked open. It was Sans.
I practically flew into his arms, my pathetic foot dragging behind me uselessly. My face pressed against his jacket shoulder, my knees falling in between his feet.
"I've missed you so much, you won't believe what I have been through!" I whined, oily tears sliding into his jacket wool. He patted my back comfortingly, his cold fingers sliding easily across my sternum.
"I know, buddy, I know. It hurt so much to watch them take you away-" he gasped slightly as he uncoiled from me to find his jacket drenched in oily black liquid. I glanced downward as well, noticing the substance pooling from my torso, where only a hint of neon blue showed.
"Oh, I am so sorry Sans, I know that was your favorite!" I cried out, throwing my hands to my mouth. He grinned at me sheepishly, making wet-handed jazz hands.
"No biggie, kid. It's no swet!" I choked back tears of laughter, realizing I missed his cheap puns.
"Okay, kid. Let's get you cleaned up a bit, shall we? We have only so much time." He grumbled, and I felt Jacin's hot breath on my neck. Sans climbed onto his back, helping me up.
"I have so many questions for you, you won't believe! Why is Jacin afraid of you? Why was I kept in that box? Where is Nami, and why isn't she responding? How did I-" Sans put a finger to my lips, his intense eyes focused on the wall ahead as he moved Jacin outside.
"I promise, all of you burning and passionate questions will be answered shortly, just let me move this bucket of bones somewhere where we can.."fix" you." He gestured to the now visible spear head still stuck in my torso, small oil streams leaking out of the hand that I had pressed against the open wound to stop the bleeding.
"Sans...I do not know if you can fix me, only Alphys-" Dammit. The grin Sans flashed me was impeccable, and I knew I had said too much.
"No one...is going...anywhere near Dr. Alphys for now, Neo. None of the others, either."Sorry for the delay this chapter, I am still trying to get my head straight from all of my conflicts in the outside world. I am really busy, and I really have been slacking off in my short moments of free time when I should be dedicated to you guys. Don't worry, I'm sure daily chapters are in the near future.
