{Jen's POV}
Jen had been watching reruns of an Irish soap opera and trying to figure out if she would stay or not before her door unlocked.

"What happened?" Jen asked almost too eagerly as Colin came through the door. He was smiling holding Evan.

"Jenny!" Evan's face lit up as he saw Jen out stretching his arms towards her.

"Hey, buddy!" Jen grinned as Colin handed him to her. "How's my favorite little pirate?" She tickled his tummy.

"I'm not pirate! Daddy pirate!" He giggled as Jen put him back down. Evan immediately found Ava and began chasing the mortified dog around the hotel.

"How'd it go?" Jen asked crossing her arms.

"I'm losing him.." Colin watched the little boy wobble after Ava.

{Colin's POV}
*Earlier that morning*
Colin was sweating. He gripped the steering wheel so tight, that his knuckles eventually turned white. He hadn't seen Helen in a couple months let alone talked to her. Maybe she was cheating on him. Maybe she wanted to divorce him as well. That would make everything a hell of a lot easier. He glanced at the yellow folder in his passenger seat and closed his eyes.

Why was he so nervous? He had been married to Helen for seventeen years, so why was he so scared to talk to her?

He pulled up to the driveway that seemed different, yet so familiar to him and got out taking the yellow file with him.

His heart was racing the entire time he was walking up the steps. As he went to knock on the door, Helen beat him to it opening it up for him and smiling.

"I missed you, Colin," she embraced him. It had been so long since he had hugged his wife, it was almost unfamiliar ground to him.

"Helen..." Colin pulled away abruptly. "We need-" he was cut off by Helen pulling him inside. She closed the door behind them before pressing him against the door. "What're you-" he was cut off by her lips pressing against his hungrily.

After a while, Colin stopped fighting it and eventually gave in. He had to admit he missed his wife. He missed her sweet smell and kisses. The way she made him feel at home. It was familiar and easy.

He kissed her back before lifting her legs around his and walking her up the stairs and to their bedroom.

"Colin... Why are you here?" Helen asked with her back against his side.

"It's a hiatus. I always come home during the hiatus." Colin reached for his boxers on the floor, and put them on before walking towards the bathroom and closing the door. Colin leaned against the sink before looking at himself in the mirror and hating everything that he saw.

"No... I mean that's not why you're here..." Helen mumbled finding her robe. "I don't know.. the way we... you know. I just felt like you were saying goodbye more than hello." He could hear her sigh as he turned on the water splashing his face. "I know we've had a lot of problems communicating... but it takes two people, Colin. I just want to talk.." Colin began to boil before he dried his face and walked out of the bathroom.

"We've had trouble communicating?" Colin asked. "I've been the one calling twice a day. I've been the one denied the right to see my son. What if when I go to pick him up today... he doesn't remember me because you haven't been letting him!" Colin yelled. "I don't know what the hell I did to deserve this!"

"You moved half way around the world and left us for a job!" Helen yelled back. "I try to come as often as I can, but we're not loaded with money, Colin. We can't keep buying plane tickets!" Helen argued.

"You know how important this is to me! Acting is my life where I can be anybody but myself!" He yelled running his fingers through his hair.

"I have a job too, Colin!" Helen yelled starting to cry.

"So that just gives you permission to cut all ties off with me and my son?!" Colin yelled back.

"Colin..." She reached for his arm as he pulled away.

"I didn't know!" Colin argued a little quieter. "For a couple months I had no idea what was going on in Evan's life, how his grades were, if he made any new friends. You wouldn't return my calls, you wouldn't even bother trying to come to Vancouver!"

"I needed time to think..." Helen mumbled.

"Well, I'm making up your mind for you. Enough is enough, Helen." He tossed the papers at her. Colin didn't expect the reaction he got, though. She seemed as if she saw it coming.

"I need to talk to you about something before I sign these..." Helen flipped through the pages looking at Colin's signature and his made up mind. She was crying.

"What?" Colin asked.

"I want full custody of Evan..." Helen said as if it pained her.

"What?" Colin repeated.

"Before you get mad... I know you're a good father, but you haven't really been there for him. He needs something consistent if he wants a normal life..." Helen mumbled.

"And you think the solution to that is to force me out of his life entirely when I've done nothing wrong?"

"As twisted as it is.. yes..." Helen mumbled.

"Sign the damn papers.." Colin said as Helen gave them back to him. "Goodbye, Helen. I'll see you in court.." He said snatching them back and leaving Helen to cry alone in their bedroom.

Colin got in his car and drove away as fast as he could without looking back. He drove towards the daycare where Evan was. Towards his son.
