Comment my little lava cakes

{Colin's POV}
She had drowned herself in booze before he could even talk to her. Storming out probably wasn't the best thing to do with her condition. He needed to get home to his son, though.

Getting in his car, he drove home and paid Sandy, his usual babysitter. Evan was down for the night, and Colin stripped down before getting in bed. His phone beeped.

Jennifer Marie💕
Hey. I'm really super sorry about this I really need to talk to you. Sorry about the alcohol I should have saved it till after you left.

Drinking after he left? Was she getting into drinking? He replied.

What do you mean after I left?

Jennifer Marie💕
I can't be in this house alone. The only way I can be alone is when I drink. Geoff refused to have me keep drinking, so he came over and spent the night. He didn't know about you. It's not his fault.

That cursed name. He hated Geoff, though he probably shouldn't. There was a pause.

Jennifer Marie💕
I love you.. I want you. I need you. Please Colin...

He debated. He debated for most likely thirty minutes. Should she come here? That would keep her out of trouble. That would keep her from doing anything stupid, like Geoff.

Evan was asleep, he couldn't wake the poor lad to go get her. It's not like she could drive over here. She was wasted. Colin couldn't put Evan through that waking him up. This was Jen's own fault. She was the one who got wasted.

Should he? Shouldn't he?

Colin's fingers moved on his phone.

I'm coming to get you.

Sliding out of bed, he put his sweatpants on only. It was too hot in this house. Walking steadily into Evan's room, he picked the boy up and held him against his warm chest not making a peep.

Evan was a light sleeper, but luckily, he didn't wake. Buckling him into his car seat was difficult without waking him. Turning on the car is what woke him.

"Daddy?" Evan's sleepy voice was quiet. "Daddy?" He began to whimper.

"It's okay, Ev.." Colin turned around from the front of the car looking back at him.

"Daddy.." Evan rubbed his eyes beginning to cry.

"I'm right here. Don't worry okay? We'll go back to bed soon." Colin smiled back at him hoping he would stop. Evan's cries turned into whimpers as he pulled out of his driveway.

The drive didn't take that long. Once he pulled up to Jen's house, he turned back to Evan once again.

"I'll be right back okay?" Colin smiled. Evan shook his head beginning to whimper again. "Hey, I'm just going inside to get Jen."

"Jenny?" Evan stopped crying again.

"I'll be right back, buddy." Colin got out of the car shutting the door and jogging up to the front door. Opening it, the smell of alcohol overwhelmed his body. Wrinkling his nose, he walked through the house. "Jennifer?" No response. The only sound he heard was the television running. Following the noise to the living room, Jen sat staring blankly at the screen.
