this week I'm going to be talking about dots, exclamation marks, question marks and all those things.
before i begin i want to say; i understand punctuation is an important part of the grammatical side of languages.
without punctuation sentences do not make sense and people would not understand each other properly most of the time. I do understand that
BUT-
i dislike punctuation.
for multiple reasons, actually.
first of all, people don't use it properly. it's friggen annoying.
people who use ten million exclamation marks behind sentences or even words alone. i see you. you annoy me.
I'm not talking about people who do that in chats, while texting everything's fine with me.
what annoys me is when they write a piece, on websites like facebook (not that i actually use fb anymore tbh), social media in general, really, and even wattpad. it's shocking.
"oh my gaawwdd i just had dinner and it was sow goowwdd!!!!!?!?!?!?! i love you so much *bf's name* i have the best boyfriend ever he paid for everything n i love u sm babe!!!!?!??????!???! 💚❤️💚❤️💛💫💛💝💛❤️💝"
1) I don't care if you had dinner. why did i need to know that
2) those exclamation marks in combination with the question marks make you look like a crazy person. just stop
[3) you have food and a relationship and I don't so :'/ ]
but seriously....just stop
i hate punctuation rules. hate them
why do i need other people to decide where i put dots. i love them and i want them everywhere, as you might have noticed.
in some of the poems i've put in this, i use a lot of dots. preferably at the ending of every sentence. or even word. yes. i do that. i always have. i'll never stop. ever.
and no, this is not exactly the same as people who overuse the exclamation- and question mark, because the dot doesn't stand for a particular emotion generally. it does for me, but it's different.
you just can't put a ! behind every sentence....i mean....you can't possibly be that excited, can you?
when people use '????????' it makes me feel inferior, like i've done something wrong, like i've just said something incredibly brainless. i hate it.
when people use '!!!!!!!!!!!!' it makes me feel like you're shouting at me. I physically and mentally can't handle it. please stop. please.
when people use '?!?!?!??!?!' it leaves me panicked and stressed. please don't do that.
