ok so today's topic is really weird but I'm just throwing it out there...
it's common knowledge that people (mainly guys) with deep voices are attractive. just like 'tall' & 'smelling nice' are also attractive qualities.
funny thing: whenever a guy has a deep voice i really wanna crawl onto their lap, put my head against their chest and listen to them talk. like, the idea of feeling their voice because of vibrations just sounds like it would be such a comforting thing.
can i just say that voices are such weird things?
last week i was just reading some poetry on wattpad with my cup of tea and my blanket when suddenly i saw this line that tickled my brain.
"voice is the breath of the soul"
and i just stopped. this sentence is so unnecessary and i really disagree with it profoundly.
yes, poetry is a very personal thing and something i dislike can be absolutely souldance-like and beautiful to someone else, but this feels different. this is just plainly wrong.
no voice is not the breath of the soul. how did the very thought even enter your mind.
why does a soul need breath to begin with. does a soul have lungs bitch. no.
another thing; voice and soul are so not connected it's not even funny.
voices are just random things, and they are high or low depending on hormones and the length of your vocal cords.
that's it.
no special magic involved, I'm sorry.
my voice is a big insecurity of mine. I absolutely hate my voice. i always have.
i think it's too high pitched and unstable and soft and I can't seem to do anything properly with it. that's why it makes me feel really weird when people say I'm a great singer, because the thought that my voice can do something well is just absurd to me.
it's why this particular line really annoyed me. if people start judging my soul based on my voice i would soon be living alone in a ditch with a rat named joe.
my soul and my voice have got nothing to do with each other, please stop.
