Setting: In a deserted swamp/bog... Maybe even the Venomari onee... Who knowss

~Jay's POV~
That misshapen dark green lump is just sitting there, minding its own business. Not like it's alive or anything, haha.

Or is it even green? It's too foggy to tell. Should I go to it? Ah, I don't know anything.

"Jay! What are you staring at, bud?" Cole hollered, his voice echoing through the vast emptiness of the bone-chilling swamp.

"Ehh, I'm not sure actually!" I yelled back. I'm sure I'm staring at something, but I don't want to cause him trouble.

"Alrighty then. I'll leave you to do that." He waved away.
Don't be such a scared baby, me! Just do it.

I took a deep breath, clenched my fists, and begun to walk forward; the saturated swamps' muddy ground sickeningly squishes under the tread of my feet.

"Ha, ha! Just kidding, I'm gonna stay with you!" Cole wrapped his arms around my torso, surprising me.

"Wha-- Cole!?" My instant reaction is prying him off of me, "I just literally gathered my strength of braveness or whatever to go over there!"

Like, who wouldn't push something off of you that startled you?

He hugged me once again, "Hmm... But now I'm here! I'm not even the one who's scared and I feel safer already with you!"

Oh Cole. He really does know his way with words; and his words are my weakness-- I can't get enough of them.

"I.. Uh-" Stammering, my heat beat rises.

Any fool could tell he's flirting with me. Now, the real question is: do I like him back? Maybe I should... Try it out, I guess?

Here goes nothing. Well, not necessarily nothing, but you know.

  ...

Oh man! This is harder than I thought! Why can't I get myself to do it?

  Gahh.. 3... 2... 1

  I shakily clasp Cole's hand.
There we go, I did it. :)))) haa!

"I thought you would." He gave me a warm smile that could make any heart lively again.

  That's a little cliche-sounding, but it's true.

"I'm ready now." All the gloom and dark aurora dissipated.

  I'm not scared anymore.

Somewhere along the way, I ended up clinging to Cole in a tight bear hug.

He ruffled my hair and gently whispered, "Jay, when I'm here, there's nothing you should worry about."

Oh, my gosh! I could've melted right then and there!

Cole kept a smug face the whole time. Does he not feel frightened one bit about the mysterious green object that lies ahead? I mean, come on, it could be anything. Or could he be trying to make me more feel more at ease?

Strangely unafraid, we walked up to the thing I've been dreading about the entire time.

And guess what? You get to decide what the green thing was! It could've been a Venomari, or a moss covered stump; even a blanket lying on the ground!
