Marigold tried to duck down hoping he didn't think it was a cat's eyes he saw. Lightning looked either ways, "you can come out Marigold." He meowed. Marigold walked away from the walls and into Snow's den. " why didn't you tell Snow on me? And what does she mean by "the pure ones could be planning?!" Marigold blurted out. Lightning opened his mouth to reply but nothing cane out. "Well!" She meowed. "Marigold, you'll find out soon." And with that said Lightning padded out of her den and into the hollow down below.
Marigold didn't talk much for the rest of the day, she just ate a mouse or two and fell asleep in her den, and then, she dreamed.
Yowls of triumph and pain echoed around Marigold. She stood helplessly in a dark cave, faint outlines of cats fought around her, blood soaked their fur. She couldn't get a good look at the cats, their bodies were to faint and translucent. She could feel claws raking her pelt, she yowled in terror as her nightmare continued. "Marigold!" A voice said from behind her. It sounded familiar. Where had she heard it?! But before she could turn to see, her eyes opened as her pelt was being poked by Titanium's one white paw. "Marigold you have to wake up, it's breakfast." The pure one hissed. Marigold rose to her paws and shook some excess moss off her fur. The trainers had been working on her den, for now it was just a flowery nest with petals scattered on the ground. "Okay" Marigold meowed.
Titanium led her to the main area where cats where sharing prey and grooming each other. She recognized Tiger and Tigress sharing a plump squirrel, and Shine eating a sparrow across from Foxy. Marigold picked up a thrush from the pile, as she moved to go sit with Foxy the reddish she-cat took her prey away into the tunnels, had she not seen Marigold? She gazed around, Lightning was sitting with a mostly brown tortoiseshell she-cat and a thick-furred brown she-cat, Marigold padded over.
The tortoiseshell looked up, "greetings your majesty, what brings you here?" She asked in sort of a snobby tone.
"I just want to eat with you guys, is there a problem?" Marigold asked. The tortoiseshell rolled her amber eyes. "Whatever, I'm Cherry and this is Airoma" she meowed pointing her tail to the brown cat, who nodded it's a strange look in her green eyes. Marigold went to Lightning's other side and bit into her thrush. Lightning gave her an apologetic look and placed his black tail on her shoulder for a brief moment but then pulled away when Airoma whispered something into Cherry's ear. Marigold saw Lightning blush a bit and she could feel his fur getting hot, she held back a giggle. Airoma looked at Marigold, "So, Princess Marigold, what makes you so special? What's your talent or whatever?" She asked. "Well... You can just call me Marigold, and I don't know... I'm a high jumper I guess." Marigold replied awkwardly. "I heard you were a street cat! Is that true?!" Cherry asked. Lightning quickly flashed an angry look at Cherry. "That doesn't matter, just try to be friendly Cherry." Lightning meowed.
"So then I guess your better friends with little miss, "I-just-got-here-from-off-the-streets-and-oh-I'm-a-princess-now" the the cat you've know since we were one moon old!" Cherry snapped. She waved her tail, "come on Airoma, let's go leave these two rats to be stupid". And with that, the two cats stalked off.
Marigold looked up at Lightning, "thanks for standing up for me, but I didn't mean to ruin anything with your friends." Marigold meowed. Lightning smiled, "this happens all the time, Cherry is just hot-headed, she'll forgive me tomorrow by the most." Marigold laughed. "Thanks Lightning, you know your not so bad." She mewed. "Neither are you Marigold, neither are you..."
