Darkness swallowed the two cats as they leapt down into the depths of the tunnels.
They landed in a small hollow that had been decorated in bright orange flowers and maple leaves. A long, thin tunnel stretched out before them, Marigold glanced at Lightning admiring the determination in his eyes.
They sprinted down the tunnel making sure to stay quiet. They soon came into a place sort of like the main room at the Snowset Colony but it was decorated with tree branches, leaf-fall coloured leaves and warm-coloured flowers. A large rock faced them, it was bedazzle in orange gems, Marigold assumed that was where Sunset addressed her cats.
"Now what?" Lightning asked flicking his tail back and forth.
Marigold looked around and spotted a cave right behind the rock, "in there" she meowed and led him further. The tunnel was dark and quiet, she strained her ears to listen for anything but nothing.
When the tunnel opened up Marigold jumped in surprise, a thick-furred, ginger she-cat was curled asleep in a nest of leaves, moss and flowers.
"Is that Sunset?" Marigold whispered. Lightning nodded.
Marigold sent her blue gaze around the room searching, until she found what she was looking for. A room much like the one in Snow's den, the "forbidden" room to be exact. This one had lichen hanging down from it and a maple leaf right at the top, it had claw marks going through it.
Marigold quietly led Lightning into the den, Marigold was so worried she would make a noise she held her breath.
The den was small, it had six indents in the ground that had been comforted in leaves and pine needs.
"That's where Sunset and the pure ones sit while addressing... Stuff. It looks just like the one in our's." Lightning whispered. Marigold bossed, it's time to get to the point.
"Okay Lightning, I want answers. Tell me what you know and how we can find more." She mewed.
"Snow is planing a attack on Sunset. She wants to wipe them and take over all of Underpaw, the reason she has only told the pure ones is because this is also a loyalty test. All cats who fight with us will be spared, the others... Will die."
Marigold put her ears back, Snow was insane!
"O-okay... Well let's look for any useful information." She meowed.
The room was mostly empty except for the nest/seats and some sort of setup of leaves, rocks and twigs.
There were two stacks of leaves, and each had five rocks by them, a pattern of twigs leading from one to another. At one point in the twigs there was a large rock. "Lightning do you know what this is?" She meowed turning. Lightning as digging at a corner, he turned his head.
"A very complicated game of moss ball without the moss?" He suggested.
"I don't think so. I don't think there's anything in here, we should try somewhere else." Marigold meowed.
Lightning nodded.
Marigold poked her head out, Sunset was still asleep but she had turned in her rest and was now facing Marigold and Lightning.
Marigold shared a nervous glance with Lightning and they both wandered quietly out the den, Marigold put out her paw reading to take a step when a loud crack filled the air, she looked down at her paw, a broken stick lay under her paw.
She stiffened, Lightning gave her a terrified glare as they heard movement behind them. They turned their heads slowly as paw steps reached them, and then out of the shadows Sunset appeared her eyes flaring with fury.
"And what do you two think your doing here?"
