Lavender's Secret

Chapter 6: Bound in Chains

Lavender fell down beside him and shortly after he passed out to. Sleepily he opened his eyes to find himself looking at the two girls he has been traveling with who were asleep. They were bound in chains and tied to steel poles and all three of them made a triangle of prisoners. Astrid's eyes fluttered open and she took in her surroundings as Lavender also woke up. The doors behind him flew open and he could feel his chains being undone and he was lifted to his feet and dragged out of the cell. As he looked behind him the girls shared a worried look. He was taken down the dungeon halls he knew to well and was brought up a long winding staircase and in a moment he knew where he was going. He walked into a hallway guards still walking on all sides of him. A huge set of doors were at the end of the hallway and servers pushed them open. The room was huge though it was simply a waste of space for all that was in the room was two thrones. One was empty but the other was killed by The King, Lavender's brother. He was pushed down on his knees and he stared at the floor before The King. A servant to the side of him started to speak. "This is Jace Blackhawk who guard prisoner 2085 also know as Astrid Clarity. He was found missing from his post and his prisoner was also missing. Princess Lavender was also recorded missing. Earlier this morning this man, the prisoner, and the dear Princess were found in the woods passed out. This man I being charged with leaving his post, helping his prisoner escape, and kidnapping the princess. We will now let Princess Lavender share her story." He could hear the doors open behind him and the servers politely clap as Lavender entered the room and walked to her throne and sat in it without saying a word. There were a few moments of silence before she said. "It was not this man's fault for his prisoner escaping or my absence. It was mine." Everyone was silent as the Princess continued to speak. "I made the guard open the cell and I escaped with the girl and forced the guard to come with me." The doors behind Jace opened again as Astrid entered always surrounded by guards and was brought to her knees beside him. "This women was the prisoner who escaped." The servant beside him said. There was once again silence. Jace soon heard the King's deep voice ask his sister: "why did you leave?" "Look around at your guards!" She yelled at her brother standing up. "Do any of their faces look familiar? They don't that's because these people threaded to take your life if I didn't give her to them!" He could hear the guards taking out their swords. In a moment he jumped up and ran just as a sword was coming down just where he was standing. He ran to the princess and grabbed her hand and sprinted out the door. He could hear Astrid cry out in pain but she was soon running along side them. Down the halls they ran as guards came from every way and the only thing they could do is run. Out the door into the woods for what felt like hours until they couldn't hear or see the guards anymore. That's when he realized that the King was also with them.
