C - Officially Friends: A Shaky but Beautiful Start

Ok, so now, Mr. Patterson and I are officially friends and we had our first real fight. Actually, we had our first real fight before we officially agreed that we're friends.

Long way to go, Czerina.

Friends. Yeah, I can do that. But I can't wait any longer.

I can't believe I cried awhile ago. I just kind of exploded. The fact that he said that he'll never fall in love me broke me apart. Fortunately, Natalie hasn't noticed my red eyes. She's usually observant but when she's really sleepy, she acts like a drunk person. She's not mindful of things.

We placed our luggages in our assigned cabins. We were given a chance to rest for a while before we head to the dining hall to have lunch. The girls unpacked their things and plopped on their bunk beds. Natalie and I claimed the bed by the restroom so that we could be the first to use it. Natalie will be sleeping on the top; I'll be sleeping at the bottom. I changed into black skinny jeans and a white blouse. Natalie eyed me down.

"Where do you think you're going?" She asked with much suspicion in her tone of voice.

"To the swings." I replied casually.

Natalie turned on her side and propped herself up with her elbow. "Honey, how could you go there if you don't have any shoes?"

I looked down and blushed. I was barefooted. I smiled sheepishly at her. She jumped down and took out her suitcase. She rummaged through her things and smiled triumphantly. She turned and gave me her white studded flip-flops. Yes, studded. It has jewels on the strap. My eyes marveled at the footwear. Natalie placed it by my feet and I wore it. I could feel eyes burning holes through my head and feet. Natalie linked her arms with mine. We happily left the envious girls behind.

We walked down the pathway. Beautiful trees surrounded us. Birds chirped happily and the sun blazed. We saw the huge auditorium where we hold our devotions and seminars. The basketball court was just beside the dining hall. The swings were just close. Natalie and I ventured towards the swings. We saw a lone figure swinging. There were other students playing and hanging around the place but nobody approached the swings. How odd.

"Hey, it's your loverboy." Natalie whispered in my ear. I squinted my eyes and saw Mr. Patterson. I gasped at what Natalie just said.

"He is not my loverboy." I countered. We stopped in our tracks and started a silly argument.

"Oh, he will be. And soon." Natalie smirked at me. She wiggled her eyebrows playfully at me and I chuckled. She looked ridiculous.

"You're nice and sweet, right?" I asked her.

"Yeah."

"Then stop teasing!" I shouted. Some heads turned but ignored us nonetheless.

"It's a best friend's job to tease." Natalie started. "And to tickle their own best friend!" She then attacked my precious stomach with pokes. I laughed and lied on the ground. I squealed. After a few minutes, our tickle fight stopped. I looked at Natalie and. Her mouth is wide open.

Then she squealed like a pig.

Oh, that's an understatement.

I was attacked again by a new fit of laughter and I had to hug my stomach because it's hurting so much. Natalie shot glares at me and helped me up. She told me to look at the swings. The minute I looked at them, my laughter died.

Mr. Patterson was staring at us.

"No, silly. He's staring at you." Natalie corrected. Oh, great. I said my thoughts aloud. Again.
