He looked at Amy; his lips parted, ready to ask what exactly she meant by that, only to be interrupted by a sudden knock on the apartment door. Amy turned her head towards the door, her quills brushing against him.
"Hang on, here I come!" She called as Shadow dropped his arms, releasing her.
She began stepping towards the door, looking over her shoulder she pointed towards another room. "That's my bedroom. If you go in there, there should be a pair of pants and a shirt in a plastic grocery bag on my dresser. They should be able to fit you." And with that, her feet met the door mat and she peeped through the hole in the white metal door.
Shadow looked in the direction her fingers gestured to and his feet moved. He walked into Amy's bedroom and looked around; her dresser was beside a rectangular window. He moved cautiously towards it, staring at the gray grocery bag. It was tied in a knot at the top with a note on it that said "Give to Cream". He placed the small yellow paper aside and untied the plastic.
Inside he found what he assumed where the clothes Amy had spoken of. He reached in and pulled out a neatly folded maroon T-shirt followed by a pair of crisp, dark blue denim pants. He looked down at his own clothing, or what he called clothing. He sighed and removed his tattered and faded canvas pants.
He could hear Amy speaking to someone and quickly dressed himself, curious to see who had entered her home. He started towards her bedroom door once again, catching a glimpse of himself in the mirror hanging on the wall beside what he assumed was a storage room of some sort. He didn't look like himself. Not that he looked bad by any means; he simply looked different. The clothes didn't seem to be too large or too small. Shadow liked the pants quite well on him. However, the shirt was something he was adjusting to wearing.
He tore his eyes away from his reflection and once again began walking towards the bedroom door. He stepped out, his gaze falling onto Amy's mesmerizing frame. She was talking to a cobalt colored hedgehog. He smiled as she spoke to him and she did the same. Shadow felt a slight twinge of something in his stomach.
"Thank you, Rose." He said, attempting to steal her attention. Both hedgehogs turned their heads at the sound of his voice. The cobalt hedgehog's smile faulted. Amy's smiled widened upon seeing him in his new clothing.
"No problem." She continued to stare at the ebony male, silently admiring his appearance.
The blue male coughed. "Hey, Ames. . . who's this?" He chuckled nervously as he nodded towards Shadow. Amy's eyes flickered between the two.
"Oh, my bad. Sorry." She wiped her hands on the front of her pants. "Sonic, this is Shadow. Shadow, this is Sonic."
Shadow looked at Sonic, who did the same.
