Sonic sat there, losing himself in his own thoughts. His hands lay in his lap, his thumbs twiddling. He shouldn't be so. . . upset? Confused? Irritated? Whatever emotion he was trying to identify, he shouldn't be feeling it. After all, it's not like he and Amy were a thing. She could have whoever she wanted in her house. It shouldn't be bothering him. But it was. A lot.

His eyes fell to the kitchen entrance. Shade or Shadow or whatever the hell his name was could be in there right now with his arms around her and she could be giggling and playfully swatting his hands away while trying to be quiet because Sonic was in the other room and she didn't want him to hear them. Sonic closed his eyes and exhaled. He was over thinking so much. She said he was just a friend, she wouldn't lie. She had no reason to lie to him. Suddenly, he felt a vibration in his pocket.

Confused, he pulled out his phone. Why was anyone messaging him? Everyone knew he had planned an "Amy day" as he called it. It was a text from Tails.

Tails: Hey someone's here to see you.

Sonic: Who? And what 4?

Tails: Idk. Just come here and see.

Sonic sighed. He'd practically just arrived at Amy's apartment. What was so important that he had to leave right then and there.

Sonic: I'm at Amy's house. I planned on hanging out here 4 a while. You know that. Just tell them to come back later.

Tails: I'm sorry man. But she's damn near demanding you come over.

Sonic starred at his phone screen in confusion. She? Could he be talking about Cream or Rouge? No, probably not. He would've just said who it was.

Sonic: She? Wdym she?

Tails: Like I said, just come here.

Sonic: Like I said, I'm at Amy's house and I planned on hanging out 4 a while.

Sonic grumbled to himself. This was really starting to get annoying. Sonic wasn't in the mood for a guessing game. He tuck his phone back into his pocket, choosing to ignore the buzzing it emitted. Today he wanted to hang out with Amy, no one else. What was so hard to get about that?

He shoved all those thoughts away when he saw Amy walk out of the kitchen. As he looked at her he caught a glimpse of Shadow. He felt his stomach drop. He'd forgotten about him. He smiled at Amy. "So, do you wanna do anything today?"

Amy returned the smile and Sonic's heart fluttered in his chest. "I'm not sure, I haven't put much thought into it. I actually had forgotten that you were coming over today." She played with the hem of her sweater as she thought. "Considering the weather and temperature I think it's best to stay inside for awhile." The events of the past hour played in her mind, a slight blush coloring her cheeks. This didn't go unnoticed by Sonic.

"That's fine, Tails actually gave me this flash drive thing with a pretty good selection of movies on it if you wanna watch some." He reached into his pocket as he stood up from his seat and pulled out a slim silver USB type object, knowing Tails it was probably a regular thumb drive that he had modified to his own standards. Before Amy responded, he felt his phone vibrate against his leg. The annoyance must have be apparent on his face.

"What's wrong?" Amy questioned.

"It's just Tails. He's been blowing up my phone because someone is over there and wants to see me, I guess." He reached into his pocket pulled it out.

"It's probably important, Sonic. Maybe you shouldn't keep ignoring him about it." She walked away with the glass and returned shortly after. He turned on his phone to see the two new notifications.

He sighed. "You're probably right. I guess no movie night, huh?" He joked with a soft smile. Amy shrugged.

"We'll be able to do it another time. And about coffee tomorrow, does eleven work for you?" She smiled at Sonic once again.

He nodded. "I guess I'll get going then. I'll talk to you later, Ames." He stepped towards her and embraced her in a hug which she gladly returned. He loved how warm she was, the feeling of his arms around her was something he would never grow tired of. Feeling his phone vibrate once again in his hand caused him to groan. He had said goodbye to Amy and gave half attempted wave to her friend as he walked out of her apartment.

He walked down the hall and unlocked his phone to read the messages that were ever so important.

Tails: I know. You know I wouldn't interrupt that if it wasn't important. At least that's how she's making it seem.

Tails: Dude please hurry up, she won't leave me the hell alone.

Tails: I'm not trying to tell you to rush, I'm just saying don't be super slow about it.

Tails: Whenever you plan on heading over let me know.

Sonic grumbled to himself.

Sonic: Jfc. I'm on my way now.

In aggravation he shoved his phone into his pocket, refusing to take another look at it even when it continued to vibrate against his thigh. He continued out of the apartment building and made his way to his car. As he drove away he only had one thought on his mind. Whoever the hell was waiting for him had better have something really important to tell him. Shortly he pulled into the the lot of Tails' garage, noticing a small maroon car that he didn't recognize.

As if he were watching for his arrival, Tails threw open the door to the garage and tossed the azure hedgehog an anxious glance before walking back inside. Sonic entered quickly and turned to tell off whomever had felt the need to rush him but once his eyes met her familiar head of auburn hair and golden brown eyes his mouth had forgotten how to form words.

"S-Sally?"
