Chapter 19

BRIE'S POV:
I sat up as soon as I was awake, drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. I looked around and relaxed when I realized I was in my own home. I most likely had a nightmare last night, that's all.

As I slowly laid back down, the back of my head began to pound. I've had a lot of bumps and bruises in the ring, but I don't think I've ever felt pain like this before. Hearing sounds from the kitchen made me tense up at first, but relax shortly after at the thought of Nicole in there cooking something for breakfast.

Nicole loved to cook. I remember when we were first on the road together she would always offer to cook when I suggested to go out. Even though the kitchens in the hotel rooms were beyond tiny, she always found a way to do it. The only times we would ever go out was either when there was no shoe box sized kitchen or she was way too tired.

Thinking about those first 2-3 years on the road with her made me smile. I never once thought that I would get to travel the world and do what I love most with my twin sister. Having a twin is such a special relationship. I wish everyone could experience it. Even though she really pisses me off sometimes, I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Not only do I get to do this with my sister, I met so many new people along the way who mean so much to me. Paige, AJ, Nattie, Trinity, Dolph, the Usos, Foxy, Jon, Colby, and especially Joe.

Joe.

I sat straight up fast, ignoring the sharp pain in the back of my head. I completley forgot about him last night! No....I didn't...

I slowly sat back and tried to recall what happened last night. Was I out drinking again? No, I don't feel sick and this pain in my head isn't familiar. Maybe so tired I just blacked out? No, if that were the case I would remember what happened last night.

Anyway, I would've woken up to my phone going off. Surley, someone has tried to call or text me last night. And that's when I realized...my phone is nowhere in sight.

I started looking under the blankets and shifting things around on the small nightstand next to my bed.

Nothing.

All of a sudden, I stopped what I was doing and froze. The sounds in the kitchen stopped and I heard footsteps coming towards my room. Something didn't feel right. I feel sick to my stomach. My head hurts. Things are becoming blurry. My world is spinning. God where the fuck are Nicole and Joe? This better just be another sick joke played on me by Paige. Sure I'd be pissed at her for doing all of this, but I'd be happy to know that I'm safe.

The footsteps stopped, and so did my breathing. I tried to hold my breath, but the sound of my heart pounding was so loud, anyone could hear it. The door slowly creaked opened. There's nowhere for me to run. Nowhere for me to hide.

"Eva?" I was so fucking confused. What's happening? Before anything else, she started to come at me, frying pan in hand, and that was the last thing I saw before she struck me with a burning hot frying pan.

JOE'S POV:
Jon, Colby, and I were sitting around, drinking beer, the usual. "Hey man, don't take it too hard, she probably didn't forget about you," Jon said, patting me on the shoulder.

"Yeah, man. She's probably just really tired. I mean, she gets up really early, works hard all day into the night, and then gets only a couple hours of sleep," Colby said reassuringly.

I shook my head and looked down at the beer can in my hand. Before either of them could say anything else, we heard a pounding knock on the door. I got up to answer it and was shocked when I saw Nikki standing there.

"Nikki? What are you doing here?" I asked with a yawn. Colby and Jon turned their heads around so they could see what was unfolding before them.

"I think I know where Brie is," she said. She looked like she saw a ghost and pushed right passed me into the room.

"Nikki..." I started, but my voice trailed off. She sat, well more like fell back, onto the couch next to Colby.

"Babe, what's wrong?" He asked with a worried expression on his face. Colby slowly put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer to him. Nikki sat there expressionless.

NIKKI'S POV:
Colby put his arm around me and pulled me close to him. I just stared blankly at the TV, seeing the colors on it, but only in a blur. I didn't really hear anything around me until Joe started calling my name.

"Nikki!....Nicole!....NICOLE!"

I quickly looked up at him. "Sorry..." I whispered. I noticed that the three former Shield members were all focused on me, waiting for an explanation.

I let out a sigh and rubbed the sides of my head with circular motions. "Come on, babe. What happened to Brie?" Colby asked softly as he carressed the back of my head.

I looked at Joe and said, "I think I know where Brie is. Well, not really where she is, but who she's with. Or...who has her I should say."

Joe's face lit up.

"You're not gonna like who she's with, though. In fact, I can't stand this person either. Nobody can..."

"Well who is it?" he yelled. Colby shot him an evil glare and Joe softened his tone. "I'm sorry...who is it?"

I looked around and shook my left leg anxiously. "Eva," I breathed out.

Jon's face wrinkled up in disgust, "So? What's she really gonna do. Blow kisses at Brie until she's physically sick?"

I chuckled, not only because it was funny, but also because he didn't realize how serious the situation actually is.

"Well I thought about that, but she's way too stupid to think of something like this herself," I replied more seriously.

The smirk on Jon's face slowly disappeared as he soon realized how serious this was too. I looked over at Joe and realized that he now looked like he saw a ghost. He was pale and expressionless.

"What are we gonna do?" Colby asked.

"I think I know who to call..." I said as I took my phone out. I dialed the number I knew by heart without hesitation. When Colby saw the contact name as I put my phone up to my ear he said, "Do you really think she'll be able to help?"

"Trust me, she's gonna be able to do more than just help." And with that, I heard the voice on the other line and smiled.
