Chapter 6

BRIE'S POV:
I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair as I stood up. I walked towards the vast sea and just stared out at nothing. He deserved to know, but I'm just so sick of answering to this. I just wanna forget about it, but I can't because everyone wants to know. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, sorry if I made you uncomfortable," I looked behind me and saw Joe standing about 10 feet away from me.
"No, it's fine. You deserve to know anyway," I replied.
"Why?" he asked. I just shrugged my shoulders and sat down again. Joe walked over to me and sat down. I took a deep breath before I started to explain what happened.

"So for the past 2-3 weeks Bryan was acting really weird, but only around me. Like every time I would try to talk to him, he would pretend he didn't hear me. If I would ask if he was ok he would just mumble 'never better'.  When I would try to hug him or kiss him he would push me away or turn his head. And he would go out around 5:30-6:00 every night and not come back until 4:00-5:00 in the morning.
One day he left his phone on the bed when he went to take a shower. I saw a text from some bitch named Meghan, so I decided to read it. I read through their whole conversation and saw that he had been cheating on me for the past 3 weeks. I was fucking heartbroken," tears started to well up in my eyes and I continued, "I thought he loved me, I loved him and then it turns out he hates me and I'm not good enough,"
"Don't say that," Joe said and put his arm around me.
"But apparently I'm not," I said. Joe pulled me close to him and kissed me on my forehead. I sighed and continued, "I didn't confront him about it until 2 days later when he asked me why I was acting so distant. That's when I told him that I knew and he flipped his shit on me because I looked through his messages. So he turned this whole thing around on me and how I have trust issues. I tried to leave the house, but he grabbed my arm and threatened me, I couldn't get to my phone so I was stuck there. But eventually I was begging him to forgive me and he ended up leaving."

"Wow.....what an asshole," Joe said. He lifted my chin up with his hand so I was looking at him and he wiped my tears away. "No one should treat you like that." I put my arms around him and put my head in his chest and just cried. I felt like I was 5, but I didn't even care at this point. He stroked the back of my head with one hand and put his other arm around me. "It's not your fault, Brie. He's an un-loyal piece of shit. You're an amazing girl, and he was too stupid to realize that."

We just sat like this in silence for awhile before we got up and started walking to the car. Joe put his arm around my shoulders and I put my arm around his waist. We got in the car and drove back to my house. Joe opened my door for me and walked with me until we got to my front door. "Thanks for everything," I said.
"You're welcome," Joe said and smiled. He gave me a kiss before walking to his car. "Joe," I yelled to him. He was just about to get into his car but stopped when he heard me. "Can you..stay with me?" I asked.
"Of course I can," he replied and closed his car door.

We walked inside and up to my room. "Shit, you don't have any clothes or anything," I said.
"It's fine, who needs clothes anyway?" he laughed. I laughed and got changed into a sports bra and sweatpants. I climbed into my bed and Joe jumped on top of me. "Ow, how much do you weigh? 1,000 pounds?" I laughed.
"I'll have you know I only weigh 265 pounds, not 1,000," he laughed and rolled off of me so he was laying next to me. I put my head on his chest and he played with my hair. "Hey thanks, again, for staying with me," I said.
"No problem," he replied.
"Damn, you've done a lot for me lately. I really owe you," I laughed. Joe just laughed and put his arms around me.
"Goodnight, beautiful," Joe said and kissed my head.
"Goodnight," I replied and smiled.
