Just Another Cinderella Story

I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LESBIAN FANTASIES

After eating, we went to the park because we were bored.

Kylie was swinging on a swing, Rose was climbing a tree, Kathryn was climbing on the play set, and me? I was on the monkey bars of course. It was nice to be a kid sometimes. Kylie had declared the swing set to be her kingdom, and of course that meant I had to take it over. We got in a "sword duel" with sticks. 

"Your kingdom is mine!" I cried.

"Over my dead body!" She yelled back. 

"Wanna bet?" I quickly grabbed her stick from her hand and threw it far away. I made a mad dash towards the swing set. Kylie tackled me to the ground just as I was about to claim her kingdom as my own. 

I heard a laugh from above me. It was Rose.

"While you were fighting, I took BOTH of your kingdoms for myself! Ha!" She gloated.

I gasped. "You're evil!"

"How could you??" Kylie asked.

"I STILL DON'T GET WHY YOU'RE FIGHTING OVER A SWING SET!" Kathryn yelled from her spot on the play set. 

"SHUT UP!" Kylie and I yelled at the same time. 

I didn't notice we had company until said company cleared their throat. "As much as it is fun to watch you girls fight over a public swing set, I'm going to have to stop you before this gets violent." Zach said. 

"YOU FIEND!!" Kylie yelled after Rose, who she was currently chasing. Rose hid behind Zach and Kylie tackled him to get to her. 

"OH MY GOD, KYLIE NO!!" I yelled for her to stop while Zach laid on the ground, looking incredibly confused. 

"OH MY FUCKING JESUS, KYLIE, WHAT THE FUCK DID I TELL YOU ABOUT TACKLING PEOPLE!! I'M DONE WITH YOUR SHIT!" Kathryn screamed.

"I'M SORRY, OKAY?" Kylie screamed back. 

Later, we were sitting on a bench, and Kylie was telling me about a book she was reading on Wattpad. "So it's this high school girl and this college professor lady and they love each other and it isn't stated but we all know that they made gay babies."

I looked at her and said, "OH MY GOD, KYLIE, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LESBIAN FANTASIES!" I only said it just to spite her.

Kylie's face went red as she tried to argue with me. She stumbled over words and ended up just hitting me to end the conversation. 

Zach was behind me and laughed the entire time. I looked up at him and smiled. Maybe I was wrong about him at first... I mean, I felt pretty hesitant about dating someone. I had never been allowed to date anyone, and even if I was, how was I supposed to explain my home life to them? It's hard enough to tell friends (it took me years to tell Drew... the only reason he figured it out was because he saw the bruises). I don't know why it was so easy to tell Kathryn, Kylie, and Rose. Maybe it was because they were strangers at the time? 

Back to the original topic, though. I think I really like Zach. He's been good to me so far.

Zach saw me looking at him and smiled back. I heard Kylie make a weird noise and looked at her with a quizzical expression. She was looking at something straight ahead. I turned my direction to where she was looking. 

It was Drew and Lily. 

Don't get me wrong, I'm still really angry at Drew. He was oblivious and didn't notice Lily bullying me (which hasn't stopped, but has gotten a lot better since I became friends with Kathryn, Kylie, and Rose.) He also left me friendless for her and never did anything about the abuse, even though he knew about it. 

But... it would be nice to at least... not hate each other again.

They came closer our way and Zach wrapped his arms around my shoulders. Kylie smirked and nodded her head slightly. 

Rose must have seen them coming because she yelled, "HEY CARRIE, WANT TO GO GET SOME FOOD OR SOMETHING?" She looked pretty nervous. I guess she could tell that there was no way this could end well. Kathryn sighed when she saw them and walked over to us. She beckoned to Rose to do the same.

By the time Rose got to where we were sitting, Drew and Lily were almost in front of us. Drew smiled nervously. "Hey... guys." 

Lily glared at Zach. "What are you doing?" She asked harshly. 

"Just hanging out with my girlfriend." He shrugged. Lily clenched her fists and Drew raised his eyebrows. 

"So... Carrie..." Drew started. I raised an eyebrow and tilted my head. "I guess... I just wanted to say... sorry... even though I'm not really sure what I did wrong." He added the last part under his breath, but I still heard it. And apparently, so did Kathryn.

"You don't know what you did wrong? Are you fucking kidding me?" She scoffed disbelievingly. "Not only did you date the girl who has tortured Carrie for years, but you were oblivious to it the entire time! Did you really not notice? Or did you pretend it wasn't happening?" 

Drew opened his mouth to say something, then decided not to, and hung his head ashamedly. 

"Honestly, I'm disappointed in you, Lily." Zach said. Rose and Kylie let out a quiet, "Ohhhhhhh daaaaamn." 

Lily gaped at him. "You're disappointed in me? Are you serious right now? You fucking hypocrite!" She stomped her foot. "I can't believe you would ever do something as horrible as this!" She turned around and ran away. Drew looked after her and said, "Lily, wait!" and ran after her. 

"What did she mean by that?" I asked confusedly. Zach shrugged. 

"Who knows with Lily?" But the look in his eyes said something different. He knew and wasn't telling me. I rolled my eyes and got out of his grip. He looked at me with concerned eyes. I gave a small smile then said, "I think I'm going to go home."

The other girls agreed with me and we walked home. 

While we were going home, Rose got a text from London. It said,

'Hey! If you can, would you tell the others this also? Thanks, bae <3 

Anyway, it turns out my dad got transferred... again. We're moving to NYC ASAP. I didn't get to spend much time with you guys, but I really appreciate the... week (? I think?) we had together. 

I have a special note for all of you! 

Kathryn: Don't worry about boys (and by boys I mean annoying exes... we all know who I'm talking about here) right now. You're an independent girl who don't need no man! Besides, high school boys aren't very great anyway ;)

Kylie: Just keep being weird. You're hilarious and you should stay that way. I'm going to miss you!

Rose: You are a crazy fangirl and you should stay that way! Don't try to pretend that you're not, because that just ends in sadness. 

Carrie: I'm just going to say this right here, right now: I don't trust Zach that much. I don't want you to get hurt, so just be careful, okay? Although, I'm probably just being paranoid and there's nothing wrong with him xD if anything does happen though... I'll kick his ass for you ;D

Well, I have to go start REPACKING again... Bye, you guys! We better stay in touch... or else ;D'

As she read it aloud, I felt a little sad. London seemed like a pretty good person, and having to move that much must suck. 

I sighed and cleared my thoughts as I entered the house. The only other thing I want to do for the rest of the day is watch more anime and eat junk food. Hopefully no one will stop me from doing said activities.

Oh, just so you know... No one did. I just ended up having people join me.

What would I do without these idiots?
