Sup! In this chapter, the person in the picture is... Carrie's mom, Caroline Miller! Enjoy!
***********
I ran to the office and found... her. She was like an older version of me. I ran to her and hugged her. "I can't believe this isn't a dream!" I breathed. I released her and she smiled and said, "Let's go."
We got into her car and drove to a restaurant. We got a table and we just looked at each other for a moment. She chuckled and said, "You're like my younger twin." I laughed.
Then she looked all serious. "I want you to tell me why you suddenly left school."
I sighed. "I'll have to start from the beginning." So I told her about everything. Lily, Drew, Brittney, Dad. When she heard about all the times Dad or Camille (my stepmom) hurt me, anger flashed through her eyes.
Then a question I just couldn't help came out. "When you left, why didn't you take me with you?" She looked down. "He... Your father wouldn't let me. I'm sorry. I should've tried harder."
"No! No, it's fine! Without him being the ass he is, I wouldn't have learned a lot of things!" My mom giggled at that. "Did you just call your dad an ass?" I pretended to think about it. "Maybe." "You are definitely my daughter." She said.
"And this Lily person? She's bullying you?" She said, her voice full of concern. I sigh. "Yeah... She has been since fifth grade. And I'm in tenth right now. That's five years of bullying."
"Stand up to her!" My mom exclaimed. "I'll try." I said.
We ate and she paid for our meal. "You know, we have two hours until three. We should do something fun," My mom suggested. "We should go shopping. Would you like that?" She looked at me.
"A-absolutely!" I stuttered. We went to the mall, and my mom was surprised to know that I had never actually gone inside. I looked through all the stores.
I was mentally checking off shops I didn't like. I finally came up with a list of shops I did like, though:
Hot Topic
JCPenney
Bath and Body Works (FINALLY!!! PERFUME!!!)
Candyopolis (What? I like candy!)
Claire's (I got my ears pierced. News flash: puncturing your ears hurt like hell!)
Famous Footwear (I, CARRIE DELREAL, OFFICIALLY HAVE COMBAT BOOTS!!!)
rue21
So... My mom was pretty pleased by my choices. She actually looked relieved. "Thank God, I was afraid you would be one of those mainstream bitches who only care about 'the latest trends' and 'carbs' and 'the latest celebrity couple'."
I laughed. "You mean Brittney? Puh-lease!" Then I realized what time it was. It was 5:00. I was two hours late. Dad's gonna kill me! I thought.
"Um... Mom?" I said, pointing to the clock. "Shit." She breathed. "Okay, I'll take you home. I'll have a talk with your father and Camille."
So she was driving me home, and my arms were full of shopping bags. We arrived at my dad's house, and I groaned. I got out of the car and so did my mom. I saw the curtains by the front door ruffle, so I knew someone knew I was here. I walked to the front door and shoved the key into the lock. Then I opened the door, smirked, and screamed, "I'm hoooommmeee!"
My dad bounded out of the kitchen. "Where have you been? Have you seen the time? Who checked you out from school? A drug dealer? You little bitch!" He screamed.
He came toward me, and I stepped aside. Then he saw my mother. "W-Where did you find her? How did you find her?! CARRIE ABIGAIL DELREAL, ANSWER ME!!!"
"Now, Daniel, that's no way to talk to your daughter is it?" My mother said.
"Stay out of this, Caroline." He hissed. Then Camille walked in. "What's going o-" She gasped when she saw my mom.
"Caroline..." She said, obviously disgusted. Then Lana and Brittney sauntered in. They looked from me to my mom, and back and forth like they were watching a tennis match. "Umm... Mom? Care to fill us in?" Lana asked.
Camille sighed. "That's Carrie's bitch mother, Caroline." I looked at her. That was it. That was the last straw. I was going to do something drastic. And a little crazy. No, a lot crazy.
