"Turn." My mother commanded.
I did as she asked.
"It looks good, darling." My father nodded.
"It's a bit snug right here." I sighed.
I hated shopping with my parents. I was 20 years old and didn't need them hovering over me. We were taking a yearly vacation and this time it was to Ukraine. My grandparents live there and I grew up there for a few years before moving to America. I don't really remember the transition since I was only 10 when we moved here.
Eventually, my parents allowed me to be done and they moved on to their own clothes. I excused myself to go get a drink.
As I began my journey to the nearest coffee shop, three men took notice of me and starting yelling for me to wait up. I became extremely uncomfortable and walked faster. It was a busy place but you can never be too careful, so I entered the crowd completely ignoring my claustrophobia. Almost immediately, I bumped into a girl.
"I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going." I apologized.
"Hey, don't sweat it." The girl turned around, facing me.
I sighed in relief. She wasn't a bitch.
"Are you alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," She chuckled, "Can't say the same for my ice cream though."
There was a cone containing ice cream laying on the pavement.
"Oh god, I'm sorry. Please, let me buy you a new one." I insisted.
"Yeah, sure. I'm Anna."
"I'm Sofia."

Anna and I sat in the ice cream parlor for a while just talking. I learned that she was 20 years old and in town visiting her aunt. She was originally from Ukraine and coincidentally enough on the same flight as us in a couple days. Anna was going to visit her parents. She had moved to America to go to college and it was her dream to become a performer. In a way, she was quite like me. She had that spark of determination.
The sound of my phone ringing brought me back to reality. It was my mother.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Where are you, Sof?" My mother asked.
"I'm at the ice cream shop down the road. I've met a new friend. Her name is Anna." I smiled.
"Should we come join you?"
"If you want to."
"I think we might go home, actually. Just remember the flight is on Wednesday."
"Yes, I know. Anna is on the same one. She's visiting her parents."
"That's lovely. Maybe she'll be able to give us some tips."
"Maybe."
"Well I'll see you at home."
"Alright goodbye mother."
I set my phone down.
"Your mother seems sweet."
I nodded in agreement, "She's very sweet."
"Well I must be getting back to shopp-. Actually just come with me. We can shop together?"
"Brilliant. That'd be much more preferable than with my parents."
We left the shop and went back to looking at random clothes.

After another 3 hours of looking at clothes, Anna and I had gone our seperate ways. I made sure I had gotten her number before we parted.
As soon as I got home, I kicked my shoes off and ran up into my room. I really wanted to get my own place. I didn't want to be a burden to my parents. I had gotten a job a couple summers back at the Caribou downtown. It made good money although an apartment is quite a lot of money to be saved up for.
My younger sister Kassidy soon barged through my door.
"Thanks for asking if you can come in." I sighed.
"Sorry, I just need to borrow your nail polish." She told me opening the drawer.
"Can't you use one of yours?"
"No. I don't have this color."
Kassidy pulled out a mint color and left.
"Alright." I muttered to myself.
The rest of the night I sat in my chair drawing.
Ahh I'm back. It feels great to be back to writing. I just was way too sad to do anything. I'm feeling like things are gonna be okay for a while. Also, oh my god at Pierce The Veil's album. When I heard the announcement I started to cry. Keep in mind I was in lunch at school haha. Also! I met Asking Alexandria... I went to the British Invasion tour on February 17th. My grandma had bought me VIP for it and I made so many friends. Also, my friend had went to their show 3 days before and we were on the phone with Ben for a couple minutes and my friend had made a flag and special stuff for our show. We showed up at the meet and greet and Ben tells us he remembers us. My friend also said that I was bringing crowns and he remembered me for that too. Overall, it was the best show I've been to yet. This note was longer than I expected it to be. Well anyways, there'll be another chapter up tomorrow. Until then!
